Round a bend heading into Itterswiller and there facing you is a stunning blue painted and beam crossed building bedecked in flowers. That is the family run Hotel Kieffer, surely one of the best places to stay in the Alsace. Itterswiller itself is a gorgeous village with breath taking views, so lovely that those in nearby larger towns and cities head here for an afternoon out or an evening meal. Several vineyards are here including the kieffer family’s vineyard which has been there ‘for ever’ according to the family’s youngest son. Well a building has been on the site of the hotel since the 17th century and the family used to own a restaurant down the road too run by the grandfather. There is a lovely historic family feel to this place and indeed the family live on site. Our room was at the top of the house which was lovely - not one of the popular balcony rooms apologised the receptionist. But no matter. We loved it for its view, the simple but delightful decor and the space. Many hotel rooms in Alsace are tiny but this one was wonderfully roomy and airy.
Breakfast is a simple buffet with home made jams (you can buy these too) in a classic traditional Alsace blue and white gingham decorates room on the ground floor. Everything is simply and well done. We thoroughly recommend it - and a wine tasting at the cave by the main entrance.

This is a family owned hotel, the room (at least the one we stayed in) was good, very clean and comfortable, the hosts are welcoming. They are wine producer, one can get a "degustation" on site and purchase wine.
My only negative remark is the fact that sound insulation is poor. If some of the other guests come very late at night, and others get up early for a morning jog / footing, one can hear the doors slamming when they enter / exit their rooms.
Yes, improving sound insulation is not simple but there are solutions which are not that expensive. The easiest and possibly cheapest place to address as a first step is to work on the room doors.
Overall I did put a very good, we will possibly go back there, the village of Itterswiller is a beautiful and quaint Alsatian village

This hotel with very nice and confortable rooms is located in the entrance of Itterswiller. The rooms have access to the terrace and have balcoies. The personel superb, you can feel at home in this hotel and taste their own vines. They offered for us a bottel of wine. The breakfast is very tasty with local food. You can visit the cave and the wine factory and feel in the wine production.

Fantastic place to stay on the Alsace Wine Route, went too the hotels restaurant for dinner, very high quality food and wine, the local wines are obviously fantastic. Rooms were cosy and clean. Great view over the Vineyards and local towns. Great place to stop after a day of driving

Cute family stay hotel. Interior is typical for that area and very cozy. Rooms are functional and perfect for a few days stay.
The breakfast is typical french and has all you need for a great start of the day.

Probably the best place I've stayed in many years. From the moment we arrived Madame Kieffer & her family went above & beyond to make us welcome. She helped us book horse riding (since our French is pretty terrible), directed us to the best points of interest & always had a huge smile. Rooms are clean, spacious & have a lovely air of French elegance, wifi is also provided (no it's not streaming movie speed but for all the people who complained about this in prior reviews.....Really?!?)
The Kieffer family also own the wine 🍷 cellar within hotel grounds & will gladly let you sample wines & explain the different processes involved in producing the wines. Breakfast has plenty of choice & for only €8 it filled us until dinner. Our last evening we were enquiring re the location of the nearest laundromat but Mrs Kieffer even put a load of washing on for us (sssshhhh, don't think she'll be wanting to do this for everyone!) In conclusion; accommodation fab, great location & free parking but most of all you'll feel like you're at home. A huge thank you Mireille, we'll be back!

My husband and I spent 6 nights in this hotel while exploring the Alsace region. The hotel is really lovely and full of character. Our room was spacious with an excellent bed and a good size bathroom. We had a front room with a balcony and a wonderful view over the vineyards beyond. The owners of the hotel were very helpful at all times. The other outstanding feature of this hotel is the absolutely superb breakfast, with absolutely everything you could ask for in very generous proportions. This hotel was excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to explore the region. Itterswiller is a really gorgeous tiny town with a couple of very nice restaurants and is central to all of the major sites in this wine region.

A beautiful hotel in a very pretty village. We were given an up-grade to a room with a balcony on check-in - thank you, it was so lovely to sit on the balcony in the evening looking out over the countryside and the flowers hanging from the balconies. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of free parking. Wine tasting available on-site. A perfect place to stay, would definitely recommend.
