The staff are very pleasant but the house is very tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment. There is no shower. There is no elevator and our room was on the second floor. Definitely not for elderly or disabled people. Location isn't really that great except that it does have parking. Garden isn't particularly attractive and very close to...

Great welcome, great wine, great food, lovely room. Only stayed one night on a long trip to Spain, but wouldn't hesitate to go back. Would make a great base to explore the region and so much better than staying in traffic-chocked Bordeaux.

An absolutely beautiful building with wonderful hosts just 5 minutes from the motorway. We booked Chateau Julie as a stop off between the ferry port at Roscoff and our final holiday destination in Lot-et-Garonne. We were delighted to find a hotel full of character where period furniture was being used (as opposed to displayed) and welcoming hosts in Rinse &...

This working chateau is just fabulous! The hosts will do almost anything to make your stay a pleasure. They booked us a couple of winery tours and recommended some good local restaurants. The closest one had the best sole I have ever eaten.

We spent a night at Chateau Julie as a stopover in driving from Dordogne to Normandy, and it proved excellent in all respects. Location was perfect for our purposes, since the hotel is just minutes from the motorway. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with Rinse's travel, so we were not able to sample his cooking. Renee was an attentive and energetic...

We stayed at The Chateau twice on our way to and from Portugal, and on both occasions after a long drive we arrived to a wonderful warm welcome from Rinse and Renee. We were shown to the "Portugal room" which was a fluke as they didn't know we were going to Portugal the first time. Lovely spacious, clean room with...

My friend and I were on our way down from the Channel to the Ariege and this was a perfect stopover in all respects. The rooms were huge, cool (even in 34 degrees) withouot being air-conditioned and the dinner at the communal table was a delight. After a long day on the motorway Chateau Julie was an idea place to...

Very well restored, small wine-producing Chateau with lovely rooms. Professionally run by busy but very frindly hosts Renee and Rinse who made us feel very welcome and cooked a fantastic dinner. Plenty of spots to sit outside and soak up the sunshine, and an interesting 1st floor balcony-conservatory to retreat to if the weather turns inclement. Easy reach to St...

We stayed at Chateau Julie for six nights in July, 2013. We are a family of four (two grown daughters) and opted to stay in one large room on the second floor. The room was beautiful. The best thing about the Chateau are the managers, Renee and Rinse. Both are multi-lingual, by the way, and met every single need we...
