Near Bayeux, hidden between hills, forests and fairy-tale roads, far from the daily noise but close to everything, two beautiful people created a place hard to describe. If you are grumpy, nosy and not elegant don't go there because its not for you... Services are above any stars because they are done with passion. There is a special atmosphere there,...

My husband, young daughters (5 and 8) stayed with Ian for two nights in July. The house is wonderful - perfectly decorated and spotless. The grounds are gorgeous - green, lush and very peaceful. Ian is the perfect host. We ate there the first night and had one of the best dinners of our life. It is expensive, but that's...

We stayed at le Manoir de la Rivière for two days in May and enjoyed our stay very much. It is difficult to decide if it should be categorized as a hotel or as a Bed and Breakfast. It is small for a hotel but has the feel of a B&B. Our host (Iain) was pleasant and friendly and prepares...

Firstly we would like to disagree with the last posting of the Manoir regarding the food served.... ie The Gnochi. With friends we stayed for one night and reserved dinner prior to arriving and not knowing there would be no choice on the menu. It was a four course delight. Gnochi to start, Thon (tuna) main course , wonderfull selection...

We stayed just for the one night en-route back to the UK but wish it could have been for longer. Immediately taken with the place. Peace & tranquility, bags of charm and lovely hospitality from Ian & Maureen. Had dinner at the Manoir that night and the food was simply delicious. Our 4 year old daughter was also fully catered...

Astonishingly great hospitality, wonderful food, comfortable rooms. It felt like being at home but being thoroughly looked after. An excellent evening meal, bar and wi-fi meant that there was no need to go out after a full day of sight seeing. Iain is a wonderful chef and nothing was too much trouble. He impressed our son by remembering his name...

My friend and I drove from Paris to experience the Normandy area for a couple of days and luckily we stayed at the Manoir. The drive was beautiful and upon entering the property, we were so happy...what a beautiful place. Great location for visiting the D-Day Beaches and surrounding area. And truly the best part was Ian-what a host. It's...

I booked our family room for my parents, myself and teen daughter to share based on Trip Advisor reviews and a desire to stay in the Normandy region for a couple of day of sightseeing during our recent trip to Paris. We couldn't have been more pleased! My daughter has decided that this is the place she wants to return...

We stayed on our way to the ferry at Caen. Its only 30 minutes away. What a fabulous place! Ian is a terrific cook and we had a superb evening meal. There is a good wine list and an honour bar - perfect for chatting with other guests by the big fireplace. Maureen is a real character, with some fascinating...
