We wanted to stay on this island on a campsite to get the feeling of being near the sea: the waves, the birds, the smell, the lighthouse. On this camp-site it is possible, also because you are far off all kinds of noise. The facilitities on the camp-site are new and well-maintained and "green"!! Tent-places are for the most part...

Spent 3 nights at Les Baleines in August 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pitch was a good size and we were not crowded. The toilet/shower-block was new and clean, although the facilities were unisex so, being France this meant that there were open urinals with the toilet cubicles. Other facilities we used were the boules courts, the little bakery...

A quiet, modern site with helpful staff. Everything we wanted, except frites!! But the pizza was good. I hired a bike, and we cycled everywhere. Near to fantastic beaches, where we swam and rested. Always toilet paper, always clean facilities.

We came across this campsite on the beautiful island , Ile de re . Had numerous holidays on the isle staying mainly at Bois plage campsites . We highly recommend des baleines , friendly staff , clean shower block and sunny sandy pitch surrounded by bamboo. Within a short walk along a super beach we came across excellent restaurants. Campsite...

A really well kept site located a few minutes away from the sea. Using bikes hired from the very friendly and helpful staff, a great base to explore the many beaches and locations of interest from. Wonderful Croissants and tasty pizza from the site's own kitchen and apart from an occasional lack of loo roll early in the morning, an...

I'd been excited to stay at this site as I'd heard so many great reviews, the site itself is pretty good, but it's a tad pricey and very packed in ......but it does have a super location right next to a quiet stoney beach, with the lighthouse with it's cafes & bars just 10 mins walk away. The downside -...

Mrs L, Thank you for your comment about the campsite and his location. You speak about our rude staff ! During your stay, I think we made a confusion with your pitch number and another family who wanted to stay with their friends. sorry for the inconvenience. Fortunately, we find the solution for everybody. Kind regards .

My husband and I spent 10 days at the very end of the low season. We had such a fabulous time there and will definitely go back. We camped, though we were one of few in tents. Most people there at the time were in camper vans. The campsite is very well set up. Modern, clean toilet & shower blocks...

Just got back from 10 days with our three little ones at Camping Les Baleines. It is a great site, good quiet location to explore the island and good facilities. Immediate access to a pebbly beach for shrimping/rock pooling, short (5-10 mins) bike ride to long sandy beaches. Our little ones had a great time. There were lots of French...

A lovely and green campsite. It is well equipped with new shower blocks. The location is pretty and next to a famous lighthouse. However, be aware that it is right on the North tip, meaning it was impossible to cycle to many of the towns that we wanted to visit and had to reluctantly get in the car. We wish we...

Exceptional customer service. Change pitch 3 times, not an issue or a problem for the staff there. Sylviana? Was particularly helpful & friendly. One minute from the beach & walks. Brilliant if you are into flat cycling. Would recommend this site to any of the others on the Ile de Re
