One of the best experiences of our lives; it was clean and quaint, no frills. The manager recommended a restaurant only one mile north called Timber Charlies which turned out to be a delight as well. Both are highly recommended. Extremely quiet; beds are very firm.

Rather humble appearance from afar might make this UP gem easy to overlook. We were astonished by the cleanliness and comfort; "Non-smoking" rooms were really 'non-smoking rooms'. The entire experience can be attributed to the Manor being a family owned business. We've traveled from Maui, Hawai'i and have been in Northern Michigan since last summer. This our first visit to...

We, two couples, from NYC and Chicago, booked this motel just to be sure we had a place to stay on our way up to Grand Marais, Munising and Copper Harbor. Didn't expect much more than a place to lay our heads. Pleasant surprise! Nice, simple rooms with windows on both sides, which makes a difference - more homelike. Comfortable...

Enjoyed our overnight stay at this family owned and operated motel. The location is easy to find in town. Ken greeted us at the desk and was like meeting family, very hospitable and we could have conversed for hours. He made sure our room was convenient for us and our golden retriever for the night, including adjacent area to walk...

I stayed one night at the Manor Motel. Nice, locally-owned establishment. The rooms were clean and a little rustic. Comfortable bed - the pillows were a little hard but not bad. Good water pressure in the shower - it was a little old but didn't bother me. No coffee pot in the room, but coffee available in the office. The...

Friendly owner and charming rooms. Decor is mid-century modern -- somewhat worn but obviously kept up and well-cared for. Price is very reasonable. Great place to stay after hiking the Tahquamenon Falls trails. Windows on both sides of the room as well as in the bathroom, so you get a nice cross breeze. Our tv had a remote, but we...

Small owner operated motel right out of the 60's. Owner very friendly and makes sure all of your needs are taken care of. If you are looking for a chain motel with a big lobby this is not it. If you wnat an inexpensive family owned place to sleep I recommend the Manor Motel.

Motel looks modern on the outside, but inside is a big step into the past. No remote control TV, rotary volume knob, 19" tv on a stand, makes watching from bed virtually impossible, upright wall mounted heater had a pilot lite which "popped" continously, getting hot water in shower took near 10 minutes, no kleenex, or alarm clock, room was...

“If the fish aren't biting then stop at King's Fisheries in Naubinway (about 20 minutes south on your way back over the bridge). Whole or fillet fresh fish is as good as it gets in Michigan.”
