Had a great stay. The staff are very friendly, room was clean, very nice breakfast. Unfortunately Mackinaw City hotels are going downhill fast, unfriendly staff, not nice rooms. Very grateful for this hotel, bravo!
We always stay at this hotel when in the area. This trip didn't disappoint. For the first time, I think we got upgraded to a larger room that was completely renovated. Hotel lobby looks renovated as well. Staff is super friendly and helpful. No housekeeping for our two day stay, but I think that is industry-wide during these difficult times. Great location on the lake. Nightly campfire/smores were great- smores ingredients were in individual bags. No direction where to put used skewers, so they were being used by multiple people. Breakfast was difficult only because you had to ask for everything. Two staff members not only had to handle food distribution, but take care of things that ran out. It led to longer lines. It seems like having things like muffins, breakfast bars, etc. in a different area where people could self-serve would be better. If you forgot something, you had to stand in line again. Pool areas very clean. Outdoor pool is great, but little used during this trip because of the cool weather. Overall great stay!…
We were in the Ontario building and it looked out across Lake Huron to Mackinac Island. Beautiful sunrises. Our room was very clean. Breakfasts were delicious and the staff were very friendly. The nightly campfire was a nice touch and Ricardo cleaned the chairs and kept the fire burning. Only negative was the marshmallows for the s'mores were rock hard.
This motel was very clean. The breakfast experience was great--lots to pick from. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a scenic view of Lake Huron and a cute little patio from which we could enjoy the view.
Gotta say, hands down... THE BEST hotel I have ever stayed at in the Mackinaw City/St. Ignace area. This place has it all.... great views, clean and spacious rooms, buildings that you can tell are well maintained, and a great staff. My only sticking point is the Breakfast room. 1 way in and 1 way out next to the front desk. Can be a little cumbersome. Also, we traveled in Mid-October and with the amount of people we ended up eating in the covered outdoor area and it was a touch chilly. Really should think about turning that into heated space and actually adding it as the breakfast room, even for the later times, gets extremely crowded. Also, in cooler weather for those out in the buildings near Lake Huron, it's better to drive to the Main Office for breakfast but there's limited parking. Everyone was parking out on the grass, so it wasn't bad but could be a little haphazard. Rooms are great, modern, new. Beds, TOP notch. Never slept in a better hotel bed and I worked out of a suitcase for 5 years and I've stayed at every brand. Pool area looked as advertised and was always busy. This place will definitely see my business again in the future. All hotels that serve guests in the Mackinac Island area should be this nice and well kept.…
We only needed one night stay in St. Ignace and wanted a hotel with a lakeside view. Best Western Harbour Pointe Lakefront did not disappoint! Only wish we had extra days to stay there. Our room was right on the lake! The staff from the front desk to housekeeping were wonderful. They have the best hot breakfast included, offering a great variety of breakfast items!
The location of this hotel is perfect for many activities in the area. The view from the balcony was great. The room was clean which is very important to me. You do need to walk or take the golf cart shuttle to the main building for the pool or breakfast. The breakfast selection was very nice with eggs, bacon, waffles, biscuits and gravy, along with pastries. The prices seemed a little high for off season.
Beautiful facility that was modern & well maintained at a very reasonable rate. Best Westerns can be hit or miss but this one was top notch. Loved the balcony and view of the lake from our room. There are several buildings in the complex and they will shuttle you to the main building for breakfast if you don't want to walk.
The room was spacious and clean, the staff was very nice and personable. I was worried that the bed was really firm, however it turned out to be extremely comfortable even with my painful fibromyalgia. My only disappointment was it was a bit of a walk to the beach area.
Enjoyed three nights here last week. Rooms, grounds and facilities are immaculate. Staff is super friendly from housekeepers to breakfast ladies. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Views are breathtaking. Can't wait to co back.
