We arrived on April 10th for a one night stay at the Inn at Harbor Shores. We were immediately concerned with the number of people in the lobby and the lack of masks. At check in we were advised of a wedding taking place that evening, but we were out for the afternoon and evening visiting family and returned to our room at about 8 PM. Our room was on the 5th floor and we could hear the pounding music from the wedding echoing in the walls. My wife phoned the front desk to lodge a complaint and was told they would ask for the music volume to be cut back but we noticed no change. That noise continued for hours! Sometime after 11 the couple across the hall began fighting which ended up with the woman out in the hall, banging on the door, yelling for her husband to let her back in! That went on for some time but when he finally let her in he slammed the door so hard it shook our door. No sooner did that craziness end than a group of people, we are assuming from the wedding, decided to continue their celebration IN THE HALL. Talking, yelling, laughing and arguing resulted in another call to the front desk. The person on duty was already aware of the problem as other guests had also phoned. That noise continued for an hour before we finally got to sleep. The next morning my wife phoned the desk and spoke to the manager on duty. He was also aware that there had been an issue but had the nerve to say he had notes indicating the problem had been resolved at 5:15 AM. I think any reasonable person would agree that a noise complaint at midnight is certainly not resolved successfully if not done until 5:15 in the morning. We asked for a full refund of our room charge and was told there was nothing they could do since the reservation was made through RESERVATIONCOUNTER.COM. Frankly, when making the reservation, I didn't know I was not dealing with the hotel. I had gone to the hotel web page to make the reservation, clicked on the Reservation button and believed that was who I was dealing with. The hotel said we would have to deal with ReservationCounter. I contacted them and they did reach out to the hotel but also declined compensation.

Lovie (aka Jersey) was so sweet as always. The hotel is the nicest in SW Michigan. Freedom Boat Club of St Joe is out in front of the hotel. Planks has excellent food and drinks. This is a perfect spot for a winter getaway too!!

We stayed for the ice fest. The location is good since it is close to downtown and in the summer being on the harbor would be wonderful. The room was large, modern and super clean. The balcony would be great outside of winter. It was great to have a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. The front desk staff were amazing. The girl that checked us in was super friendly and helpful. I will stay again this summer.

Beautiful view of the harbor and the staff is so kind. Hotel room is very spacious and it is a must to get a room with a view. A nice walk to downtown but a pretty walk. 2 fire pits and a lot of chairs go view the harbor. Will be back again!

I went to the Inn at Harbor Shores for 4th of July, and overall we enjoyed our stay. Food is delicious at Plank's Tavern, and there's a nice view of the harbor. The hotel amenities were not quite as good as other hotels in the same price range, but I'm guessing that Independence Day caused a price increase. One big thing to keep in mind before booking.... sound carries through the hotel room doors. You can clearly hear full conversations of other guests when walking down the hallway, offering no privacy. Lack of sound-proof doors also meant that we could hear every little noise in the hallway, which made it difficult to go to sleep at night. It's a cozy and boutique hotel for individuals or couples. I would not recommend it for noisy individuals, families, or large groups of friends.

Rhonda- Thank you for your candid feedback. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the view and Plank's Tavern. Fourth of July is quite busy with lots of families, as we are a very family friendly resort. I do apologize the noise level was higher than normal on that weekend, but hope you choose to visit us again if your travels bring you back to Saint Joseph.
