I've stayed here many times over the years and can always count on a clean, comfortable stay right across from the locks. This stay didn't disappoint in this regard. My last visit was 9/25/2020 (one night) and I was surprised at the room rate of $144! While I didn't expect amenities like a pool or breakfast (due to Covid), etc., I also didn't expect to be charged a rate that would seem to include these amenities either. I want to support small, local owned businesses but this property is under new management and I suppose its time to shop around for a new place to stay when in the area.

This place was as reviewed. I Just visited there, during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Motel was super clean. Masks were worn by all employees, and guests in common areas. It is a perfect destination stay in Saulte Ste. Marie and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Convenient to restaurants and other shopping. I will gladly stay here again, walk across Portage Ave., and experience all the boat and ship traffic navigating through the Famous Soo Locks.

We stayed here a few years back it was great stay then boy have things changed. First room and dirty sheets on bed from previous guest carpet was soiled from 2 year build up looked like dirty mirror and sink in bathroom asked to change rooms walk into second room and beds were still a mess from previous guest. Ok let's give it 3rd time a charm or strike 3 were out of here. 3rd room was ok clean for the most part but light bulbs burnt out and missing . Talked to manager at checkout she said she heard about our issues, said she was sorry and let housekeeping know about the problems. No compensation was offered what so ever nor did I ask for one. Didnt think I should have to. Being they didnt offer anything says a lot about this place I cant recommend it other then the great location across from the locks.…

Originally looked appealing, but we then found dirty q-tips beside the toilet and realized the comforter on the bed wasn’t cleaned and even had a few crusty stains and hairs on it. Amenities were solid and posed no issues whatsoever. All in all, comfortable and good price, just a little further thorough cleaning and it would be great.
