My husband and I stayed for a night. The LONE desk employee seemed surprised we had been assigned to the second floor. When we got to our room, we thought it looked fairly unused & we never saw anyone else on the floor. When we were dressed for bed & ready to sleep, we realized there was no cover beyond the sheets (so many have simple white coverings anymore that we hadn't noticed because the decorative piece was across the end). However, we just cranked up the heat & didn't say anything knowing the front desk was working alone. They were supposed to have put a charge on my card in case & take it off the next day. When I got the card's bill, it was not removed. I called. They claimed the comforter was removed from the room. I explained it was never there. They put me on hold twice for over 20 minutes to speak to the manager. When they finally put the manager on the phone, he refused to identify himself until I had asked twice, was rude about my "story" and HUNG UP on me. Corporate said they could do nothing if the local manager won't help. What is the point of having a corporate office? Maybe they should supply guests a checklist to inspect the room to be sure we correct their errors. This hotel seems to be using their customers instead of serving them...use EXTREME CAUTION if staying here.…
Charged me 250 for a broke tv that i never touched. DO NOT STAY HERE. I feel this establishment is just trying to make up for lost revenue due to covid. Stay away. This is my first review like this and only because i was scammed.
My wife and I have made several trips to South Haven in the past 10-12 years and stayed at this Comfort Inn probably 6 to 8 times. We are not in the room much so our needs of a nice, clean and comfortable place to sleep are the main reasons we have stayed here. I’ve felt we pretty much can expect to have those every time we have been there and have not been disappointed, until our most recent stay. The whole place seemed to to be nearly as clean as normal. I booked 3 additional rooms for friends and we visited one couple in their room and saw several moths or flying insects in their room. When we got back to our room we noticed the same thing. The rug in the elevator was very dirty and worn. They have one elevator so pretty much everyone not on the first floor will need to use this so it would seem like appearance wise, you would not want this eyesore for everyone on the way to their rooms. Our other guests said their room had been cleaned and bed made, but their were no clean linens left, and when they tried to make coffee there was used grounds still in the coffeemaker. They called at about 9 pm about getting some towels and was told the cleaning staff had left for the day. My wife and I felt really embarrassed booking the hotel for our friends. It had been about two years since we’ve been there and not sure if there in new management or what but it may be the last time we stay there. There are several new places now in the area so there is more competition but perhaps this hotel is moving toward being a much lesser option than the new ones. We did not complain because even though these issues were not drastic enough, they are enough to make us seek lodging elsewhere, and our friends who made calls to the desk received no help at all.…
We've stayed here in the past and it delivered about what you would expect from an inexpensive hotel... clean rooms and not much else. I'm not sure if management has changed or if they are struggling to adapt to COVID, but quality and cleanliness have declined noticably since last year's visit. Rooms were dirty with beer bottle caps on the floors when we arrived. Linen for sofa bed was stuffed in a drawer and was stained. Obviously had been used by a previous guest and never changed. Housekeeping staff do not wear masks while cleaning rooms, so be sure to lysol your rooms when you get there. Every door seemed to have an issue of some type. The room door had a 1/2" gap at the top and our bathroom door didn't latch or lock, There was no spare roll of TP in the bathroom. The refrigerator in the room was very dirty. My wife went through a number of disinfectant wipes before she felt comfortable putting food in it. On the plus side, the WiFi was reliable. LOL. Really hope they get themsleves straightened out. It used to be a nice stay for a budget hotel, but this year was very rough.…
I've never left a review, hate to complain. Comfort Suites has been reliable in the past, and it was the least expensive in the area, so we booked it for a few days for a leisure trip. Very disappointed this time. Despite a prominent sign on the front door that mandates masks, the young woman working the front desk didn't have a mask on all three days, she was wearing a non-Comfort Inn t-shirt, and lounged on the lobby couch in between customers. As we were passing through the lobby, we heard a new customer walked in and asked her "do you work here". No hot breakfast or pool as advertised. Understandable due to COVID, but no mention of this until asked, nor apologies or adjustment in rates. Not even coffee in the lobby until the last day, and only one packet of regular coffee in the room. After the first night, there wasn't even regular coffee in the room, just decaf. Hotel smelled musty. Housekeeping was sub standard - the coffee pot in room was not cleaned out after we used it, the bath mat was not changed, the bathroom floor was not clean. Won't ever stay here again.…
