Seymour House, built in 1862 is near Lake Michigan and is midway between South Haven and Saugatuck in Southwestern Michigan. Our hosts were friendly and were most accommodating to our request for gluten-free dining. The breakfast was delicious and made to order for us as well as a 'normal' gluten-eating pair. Our room had a hot tub plus needed technology. The hosts were helpful with suggestions of things to do in the area.
This was our first time staying here and very happy we did. We stayed in Patty's Garden room on the 1st floor and were very pleased. The room was quite roomy with a 2 person jacuzzi. The breakfast was excellent!
My fiance and I were there to celebrate our engagement, and the stay was perfect.. great location, right on the blue star highway. Easy to get to Saugatuck and/or South Haven. The owners were very gracious and accommodating, the breakfasts were great, and we loved the friendly cat that greeted us outside! Would recommend to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.
Very nice visit, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. And, Patty makes an awesome breakfast. Our only issue was coming and going through the front door. I like the idea of keeping the door locked but it seems like you almost always need to struggle to unlock and lock it. That being said, it's just a minor issue. We would definitely return when visiting that area.
The food was delish, the extra special touches of home baked goods are incredible. Highly recommend this great property and all the amenities. The location is perfect for visiting Fennville wineries, cider farm , South Haven and Saugatuck area.
