What a great find in the busy destination Traverse City has become. We arrived in TC late in the day and found this little gem on the main road close to but not in the busiest part of TC. The efficiency room was spotless, the king mattress was new, and you have everything you need for your stay (coffee pot, frig, hot shower, nice soaps) for well under the price of the larger hotels. The double pane windows can be opened for fresh air, and with the good insulation and the heavy door you can't hear any of the traffic on the road. Parking right at your room means easy unpack and pack up. Staff had masks and C19 cleaning policies in place. Cony was a wonderful host, and we recommend this little motel without reservation. You also know your money is going to a good local business. We would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

My wife and I took a last minute trip up to Traverse city. We were worried that we wouldn't be able to find a good place on short notice. We gave the Sierra motel a call and they made all the arrangements quickly and efficiently. The place was very clean, very well run and perfect for the covid era. The staff are all friendly, and take great care to make sure it is a safe place. We were texted an entry code to our motel room upon arrival. We left out used towels in the morning and found new towels just inside the door at our request. Very easy for contactless entry. Very close to everything you'd want in traverse city, especially third coast bakery. Yum!

We were in Traverse City at the height of the season with no reservations and were quite grateful to find this motel. The owner was lovely and the room was very clean. It's on the outskirts of town but just minutes to drive in with easy parking. While we only stayed one night we could see that in the right situation it would be a good spot.

If you are traveling in Traverse City and need a place to stay look no further. This motel is the best. It is very clean and quiet. And the owners are the best. I travel for work weekly and have some really bad experiences. This is not one of them. The room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable and I slept like a baby. Cony and Hugo are absolutely the best. When you can get the owners to treat you like family, then you are going to have a great stay. Hugo’s ice cream suggestion was perfect. Thank you! As was the food trucks. Again. Thank you. We will be back in October for the fall tour. Again, thank you. This is a great motel and a perfect place to stay.

See you again in October!

We were traveling on a budget and found this little motel. The reviews were great. I don't see how it got such a high rating. It was fairly clean and rooms was very small. Air conditioner worked but was LOUD. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen in a motel with a small walk in shower and no tub. I asked for an accessable room and was told there were not any. I'd pay more and stay elsewhere.

$200.OO a night for a two bed place with a closet for a bathroom. Anywhere else this would be 70 a night but because its TC they get this rate. Room was clean, shower hot, no breakfast or coffee in the room, small flat screen on the wall, just your basic stufff.

Barrett and Andrea bought the Sierra Motel in June 2023 with a vision to transform the tired little motel into a replica of a fine 1950s era motel. They succeeded.

Hardwood floors, new fixtures, and a great retro vibe.

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced, clean, attractive, and comfortable place to stay in Traverse City, this is the place.

Nice people, nice place.

Some friends and I were riding around the state on our motorcycles. We just drove by and found the Sierra. The owner was proud to show us how clean her rooms were and she was right! Clean showers and beds. Great quiet motel.

Very poor facility. Small, outdated and sad. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen. Bath fan hanging from ceiling, wall (princess phone) wouldn't stay in place. Can't believe folks would provide positive reviews. For $300 per day, you could do better for yourself.
