Girls trip in early June 2019. Got 2 rooms right on the beach and the main complaint I have is that each patio off of the slider door should be cleaned off EVERY day by the staff of the goose feces that is left there. I honestly don’t feel that I should have to clean it up to enjoy sitting outside of our room. There was staff walking by several times a day and they just walk over it. On another note, the rooms are clean, breakfast is plentiful and pool area very nice. We will be back but I sure hope we don’t have to deal with the poop issue.

We stayed on Saturday Feb. 1st for my birthday as a night away and really enjoyed the hotel. It was very welcoming and nicely decorated. The check in process went well and the lady at the front desk was friendly. We liked our beach view and our room was spacious (had 1 king bed). The bathroom was also nice and had a mirror outside of the bathroom to also use if someone wants to get ready while another person showers. We did make it down to use the pool and hot tub but were surprised at the temperature of the hot tub...yes they are normally hot but it seemed hotter than normal. My husband ended up going into the pool and back to the hot tub a couple of times to cool off and as others came in they ended up sitting with just their feet in because it was too hot, including myself and I believe when we left to go back to our room there were like 7 adults sitting on the edge. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come back to stay again!

Grand Beach Resort Hotel provided exactly what we were expecting: clean rooms, beachfront balcony with a great view, and a nice beach. The room was not spectacular, but clean and relatively updated. The balcony was great at night and in the morning. The beach was spread out and swimming in the water was amazing. We walked down the beach to compare the beachfront and balconies to similar properties and felt that Grand Beach appeared to be the best option.

The service was as good as it could have been during the times of the pandemic. We received prompt responses to any request. The only suggestion would be wiping down the siding/railings on the balconies between guests as the siding was covered in dead flies and the railings had a build up of spider webs.

This is a family hotel, so one should not expect the same quiet, relaxing beach setting as an adults only resort. This is likely the case with all resorts in the area. With that said, the beach was large enough to spread out.

It felt a bit overpriced, but was comparably priced to all other beachfront hotels in the area.

My husband and I stayed here last week. We had initially booked only two days and decided to extend our stay here because of the hotel. It was super convenient to all locations we ventured off to. The staff was amazing- the front desk staff were always very nice and outgoing. It was very easy to text them with any questions or requests & they were always quick to answer/respond.

The beds were very comfortable. We had requested extra pillows - very nice! The bathroom was very clean and modern. The refrigerator kept everything very cold - a little too cold as the smoked fish we bought the night before was frozen in the morning. We adjusted it down and everything was fine.

We had a beach view room and didn’t regret the upgrade at all. The view is breathtaking.

The beach was tended every morning and kept clean throughout the day. There was always employees in the area cleaning/sanitizing everything.

We will stay here for sure with any future trips. Maybe next time we will bring the kids as it did seem they did cater to families as well.

We had planned to stay 5 nights but decided to leave after 3. Here are some of the reasons why:
1.). We were told by phone and by email prior to arriving that rooms were being rotated so that there would be 24 hours between when guests checked out and next guest checked in. This was not true. The resort is at 100% capacity.
2.). Because of the above, we hoped we may be able to get an early check in. Unfortunately, we had to wait until after 4 PM (stated check-in time) because they were at capacity and running behind on house keeping. We were told there would be some type of credit if our room wasn’t ready at 4, but there was not.
3.) We had wanted a Bay View room but those were not available (no problem, we understood this when making the reservation); however, the room description said “courtyard view”. Our actual view was the parking lot and bust road. The description was very misleading.
4.) The safe in room did not work
5.) The shower in room broke during our stay. It required two different repairmen to enter our room over two different days to fix it.
6.) The beach area was very small and was difficult to maintain social distancing.

These concerns were shared with the front desk via the text mechanism they had in place for feedback but they did not respond. Attached is a photo of our “courtyard view”.

The staff are friendly but the facility is so so. Beach is small but the view is great. It gets a little bit crowded in the afternoon but people do keep social distance here. They don’t provide room cleaning service and a normal breakfast because of COVID. They deliver breakfast to the room but not continental breakfast, only cold and packed food which is a great disappointment.

This resort was a very good stay and even though we are in a pandemic the staff was great at what they could do to accommodate there guest. This resort didn’t have a a breakfast buffet but they do offer things like muffins, yogurt, cereal etc as options that they deliver to your room at a time slot you choice. Honestly they didn’t have to offer anything, but tried there best to accommodate as close to what they were use to doing. We enjoyed our stay and slept good at a sold out resort. The weekend we stayed there it was some type of baseball league there, so there was some noise( what do you expect with little league). Oh and by the way there was no room service because of the pandemic, but the good news is that house keeping comes around every morning and ask if you need anything or you can call the front desk. The rooms are cleaned before and after your stay as you see in my pictures.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Beach Resort in Traverse City. We stayed in a upper floor beach view king with sofa and were very happy with our room. Our room was very clean, smelled fresh, and even the balcony was swept and cleaned. We liked that the bathroom was fully enclosed with the sink area in the bathroom with nice bright lights over the mirror. There was also a kitchenette area with sink, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker in the main part of the room. Great feature! The staff at Grand Beach Resort is so pleasant. They will do just about anything to help make your stay the best it can be. A special shout out to Ashlee, Andrew, and Heather for making our stay one of the best! This is a great location-not too far from downtown, but far enough for some rest and relaxation with a beautiful private beach. The hotel is near several restaurants and Pirates's Cove mini golf is right across the street. I think we have found our new favorite Traverse City hotel!

Our little family of 3 was looking to get out of the house for a bit, and Grand Beach was the perfect solution! A few days of beautiful beach time; the hot tub and pool; and a nice, clean room to lounge in was just the break we needed from quarantine life. The beach was set up to properly socially distance, as was the pool/hot tub area. We felt safe and had an amazing time checking out TC, and relaxing at the resort afterward. Thank you Grand Beach for the ideal experience! Our 8 year old loved rotating between the pool and beach, and stayed busy.

The waterfront location and view are lovely, but the beach is quite small and was crowded even during the week. The room was average, and the location was not good for getting food. The traffic was very busy, and there's not much around for dining options. We did not receive our continental breakfast as scheduled one of the days we stayed. The indoor pool is also quite small.

Is there a dock to keep a 24 foot boat during our stay?
Answer from Justintraversecity
Traverse City, Michigan
Yes, they are sister resorts that are owned by the same company. They each have family suites that are set up a little differently but otherwise they are exactly the same.
Answer from Justintraversecity
Traverse City, Michigan
We authorize a $100 incidental hold for any damages that may be caused to the room during your stay. We recommend using a credit card as the hold after check out will release within two business days, debit cards tend to take up to seven business days.
