Great little place next to the lake. Arrived in Traverse City on our way up to the UP so needed a place to stay overnight. Found this little gem. The lady at the desk recognised my partners accent straight away as he is from Portsmouth we had quite the chat and her husband happened to call so they reminisced for a while.
The room was spotless and had all the usual conveniences you would expect including a microwave, fridge. The bed was very comfortable and we had a view of the lake (the picture is from the end of the walkway and on the beach the following morning). Breakfast was continental and plenty of it. I always struggle trying to find something to eat in hotels in the US as the breakfasts are usually sugar laden but there was cereals and such as well as coffee which is all I need. Would highly recommend this place. Loved it!

We had a lovely time. The room was tiny but plenty big enough for our needs snd artfully decorated to make the most of the space with a pocket door on the bathroom and a spacious shower (no tub needed). The beds were cool crisp and clean and very comfortable. The room was decorated in soothing pale blue, grey and white. A Keurig machine and mini fridge and microwave in each room made up for the slight inconvenience of having to warm up our own breakfast. The hotel was not to blame for that it was a requirement due to Covid precautions. They provided all the breakfast we could want, pastries and cereal bars, breakfast sandwiches and milk, coffee for the Keurig etc. We just had to warm up the sandwiches in the mickey..... But the star of the stay is the BEACH! Just a few steps from our door! The breeze coming in the window was soft snd refreshing with the soft scent of clean water from the lake. (I loved that we could open it for the fresh air...so many places the windows don’t open.) for A beautiful view of Traverse Bay with clean sand beach and lounge chairs and a fire pit with wood provided if we wanted a fire after dark at waters edge! Tables and chairs and a shady umbrella too! A grill if we had wanted to grill out for lunch or supper! We didn’t take advantage of all that was there for us but will plan to come back!

The staff were fabulous. We had a couple little glitches that were promptly attended to (the microwave and Keurig together flipped the little breaker on the electric strip and I couldn’t figure out why they turned off !LOL...and our first room was a single queen bed and we preferred two beds. We were switched to a new room with a better view and closer to the beach).

Hands down the best stay I’ve had in a Long time! And since we were early in the season the rate was unbelievably affordable!

Good day! Thank you so much for your stay and your kind review! You and your family were wonderful to help, and I'm so glad you enjoyed your time with us. That beach is spectacular, and I'm glad the weather cooperated so you could enjoy it, too! Oh, and in June/July, we're receiving our new patio furniture. Wait till you see pictures on our Facebook page and other sources. Thank you again and have a wonderful summer! For the love of hospitality, Jonathan Pack General Manager

Would highly recommend staying here if you intend to go on the beach! We stayed at the place next door in June and their beach was filthy. The Brio Beach Inn is very conscientious about their property. Throughout the day we saw many workers on the property ensuring it was clean. The beach was pristine. In fact they were out cleaning it during the day.

The motel itself is very modern and clean. Really liked the room. They even provide rubber snack bins to keep your beach snacks fresh.

The staff is very nice!

The bed was so soft and cuddly.

Hotel is in a great location on Front street.

The only - was that they do not clean your rooms due to Covid which I found strange as we stayed at many hotels during our vacation and they were the only ones that did that. They were however conscientious about covid social distancing and using masks in the lobby to get breakfast foods.

Would definitely stay here again!

Thank you so much for your stay and your review! I'm very sorry for not seeing your review last year. I certainly didn't mean to NOT show appreciation of your time and review. My boyfriend Manuel and I stayed here last fall before all this COVID stuff happened. We live in San Francisco and have heard about the beauty of Northern Michigan area from friends. The area is famous for many things but we thought that seeing the fall colors would be a great time to visit! We were a little concerned that being a red state, Michigan would not be accepting of a couple like us, but our apprehensions turned out to be unwarranted. We felt very welcome throughout the Traverse City region during our stay. We even met another couple from the bay area on the beach. Peter and Zack live in San Fran now but both grew up in Michigan and knew Traverse City well. They showed us around and took us for dinner at Poppy Cocks and dancing at Sidetracks. The four of us decided to head back to our room for a night cap but on the way, we picked up the most wonderful desert from a little French restaurant but I cannot remember the name. The hotel was nice but the landscaping could use some improvements. I work in floral design and the perennial choices were DISAPPOINTING! Our room was clean and well kept but the walls might have been a little thin as our neighbors very politely asked us to be a little bit quieter. The only thing I would recommend to management is that they look at investing in a small store. After the four of us returned to our hotel, we were looking for some personal hygiene products that you could find in nearly any San Francisco hotel and we were informed that they did not sell them at the front desk and we should visit Walgreens which was fairly close. Overall, I would say Brio Beach is a terrific value, clean and welcoming to LGBTQ community. Bravo Team Brio!

Good evening! Thank you so much for your stay last fall and your review. I'm glad you felt welcomed. We treat all guests the same regardless of their race, sexuality, ethnicity, or anything else. Our focus is simply one welcoming guests to enjoy our area. I'm glad you had a nice dining experience at Poppycocks some dancing at Side Tracks. The french restaurant may have been Patisserie Amie or perhaps Amical. We have so many great restaurants, and I'm glad you experienced a few of them! I'm really pleased to let you know that we have one of our beds getting planted on Monday with all new shrubs. We are working on an overall scope of improvement for our grounds to have more great perennials and also annuals (we put up some awesome hanging baskets and railing baskets this year! So I assure you we'll keep working to make the property better. And thank you for the suggestion of a shop - we've actually been looking for a simple vending machine we can offer guests. We're a simpler hotel with limited space, but we would like to fit something in. Thank you again for your stay and your review. I hope you have a wonderful summer and come visit our great area once again! For the love of hospitality, Jonathan P. General Manager

Absolutely what I had expected for a small quaint little place literally 40 feet from the water. The staff was incredibly friendly the place was super clean and well-kept and I couldn’t have been happier it is exactly what we want it. At this point in my life I don’t need super luxuries but I do expect certain things when I stay somewhere and these were exceeded on this trip. The free breakfast every morning was excellent, we would sit out on the water, fire pit in the evening was a perfect ending to every day, parking right outside your door and perfect location

What a nice little hotel in a good location! Right on the water with a small beach, swimming area, and plenty of seating.
The hotel is doing a good job under COVID conditions. Staff do not come in your room during your stay but are more than happy to bring anything you need.
A simple but adequate breakfast was available in the morning.
Highly recommended.

This is a smaller /older hotel but has one of the best spots on the beach and was very clean. The staff was so nice & friendly. We were there when it was colder & windy but their set up on the beach looked fantastic and would have been very fun in the warmer months. The breakfast (which was included) had a good variety and was quite good considering the size of this hotel. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Sweet aesthetic: pretty planters and flowers, very nice deck, tables and gazebo overlooking the beach, and chaise lounges on the private beach. Very clean room. We like supporting small, local businesses. If you’re sensitive to noise during the night you’ll definitely want to have earplugs on a weekend night due to the highway and heavy traffic close by. We appreciated the refrigerator in the room and Kirkland coffee and hot chocolate pods.

Our family enjoyed this place so much. Check in was smooth and the front desk staff and Roxanne were so friendly and kind to my 5 year old daughter. We all loved the beach which had plenty of chairs and sand to play in. It was never too crowded either and my daughter played there all day. We also brought our 7 month old and we never had to drive far to get great food or find something to do. Other guests were friendly as well! Our room was small (a little tight with our pack and play, but doable), but had everything we needed and was so clean and comfy, and the view was unbeatable. Everything looks newly updated. Grab and go breakfast was just what we needed to get going in the morning. We would 100% stay here again (and plan to) location is perfect.

Exactly what I had hoped for. Quaint, small, quiet, steps for the water! Perfect morning coffee and breakfast sitting right on the beach. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, the cleanliness and nearness was beyond. At this point I’m my life I don’t need lots of luxury but I do have a few expectations. I’ll def be back. Yes the room is on the smaller side, but the shelves by the sink and fridge added all the extra room we needed for all my stuff. The fire pit at night 10 feet from the waters edge was a great way to bc the evening

I'm not affiliated with the property but I do know this... They don't have a website as the property was recently bought and renovated. Also they don't accept pets. I asked them about their pet policy and they said they don't allow dogs. But I'd encourage you to call them and verify all this. They do accept reservations over the phone.
