The beach side and campground side were small (campground side mostly closed off as of April 2017 for unknown reasons but about 30 rv pull up spots) The beach side has great views of the bay. Such beautiful water. Small playground also onsite for kids around 3-6

This park is a great way to get into traverse city Summers without traverse city prices. Having said that, it's right along the highway and that side of the park I imagine would feel hectic/nervous, especially in a tent at night. We camped along the south, which had faint noise, not bad at all. Tall pines are beautiful throughout the...

A very popular campground. Plan ahead and make your reservations as this campground is full many summer weekends! Showers are not fancy but they are better than many campgrounds. There is a pet free zone for those who prefer.

This is a nice campground but some of the campers were not happy. This looks like a wilderness campground in some pictures but it is right in town near the border between Acme and Traverse City. US 31 runs right along the North edge and is a pretty busy 4 lane road. The beach is right across this road. It...

Our first experience at Traverse City SP was a bit disappointing. We did not realize the park was stuck in the middle between a noisy roadway and an even more noisy airport with jet aircraft taking off and landing. I guess I expected a quieter campground when it is designated a state park. The restrooms were centrally located but a...

My boyfriend and I went up to traverse city for a couple days during the week of the 4th, not realizing it was also the Cherry Festival week. All the hotels were extremely expensive so we booked at the state park. One big plus- we felt much more inclined to spend our money on nice meals and bottles of wine...

My family, friends and I camped at the Traverse City State Park this past Labour Day weekend. TC is well known for its good food, great wine, beautiful beaches and family fun activities. Unfortunately, this state park does not live up these high Traverse City standards. On Friday Sept. 2nd I arrived looking forward to an unforgettably fun weekend spent...

What a horrible horrible experience this past weekend at the filthiest state park I have ever been at. We arrived shortly after noon on Friday, my wife my 3yr old daughter, 6yr old son along with a good friend, his wife and their 3yr old son. We had sites across the road from each other. Friday night we had all...

My husband and I came up for Labor Day weekend. We have been up to the Traverse Area a million times but this was our first time camping at the state park. We are frequent campers and have gone to quite a few of the state parks, but normally this park is always booked, so we really lucked out when...

This was our 2nd stay at traverse city state park campground. We checked out some other state parks in the area, but prefer this one because the campsites are mostly in among very tall old pine trees. The campground is very near the bay (just across the road) so part of the campsites have water views. The sites nearer the...
