There are a couple of reviews posted here about how the hotel silenced loud guests. I booked here when I read the reviews. I'm glad that they were considerate enough to their other guest to act on noise complaints.

The room was very nice as was the view. The doors to slam a bit when they shut, so we were well aware when our neighbors came and left, but it was very quiet during the evening.

When staying at a hotel of this sort, one expects an on-site hotel and bar. Due to staffing shortages, we enjoyed neither. Instead of the restaurant being open, they offered Gordon Food Service pastries. That's a gesture, but nothing more.

Wifi was free and easy to use. The room was well appointed and more in room coffee was available for the asking.

The presence of electric car chargers in the parking garage across the street made this location very convenient for us.

I am working my way through various Traverse City hotels. This was my first day at the Park Place. Parking was a breeze and check-in was fast. It is right in the middle of town within walking distance from all of the good restaurants. The room was clean but the bathroom is kind of small and there was an additional sink in the room. The elevators and doors and infrastructure is showing some wear. Due To the Covid crisis they did not clean my room. I did not have a chance to try to restaurant. The bartender graciously open my bottle of wine with a corkscrew and smile.

Spent one night here since we were going to the City Opera House for a performance. The hotel is very clean. It is quite pretty. The room was nice. Bathroom was a bit "tight". It's a bit pricey, but the convenience of parking and walking around town is worth it.

We’ve stayed at worse, but this is not worth the money. The only perks are the location, right in Downtown Traverse, free parking, as well as the view of midtown and a view of west bay from a tower room. Housekeeping is only available after the fourth night. Need toilet paper or additional toiletries ? Ask at the front desk. The restaurant is open limited days. The roof top bar wasn’t open at all during the week we were here, which is a shame, as it provides a beautiful view of the bay and surrounding area. Pricing varies considerably, depending on day and season and can exceed four hundred dollars a night. It might be acceptable in Paris or New York in a first rate hotel, but not in Traverse City. The windows were so dirty, that what we thought was frosted glass for privacy in the bathroom was actually years of dirt coating the windows. We throughly enjoyed our time in Traverse City, but the hotel was an absolute disappointment.

We spent the nights of July 15 - 18 at the Park Place. We really enjoyed our time there. Our room was in the section over the parking garage. It was spacious and comfortable. We especially liked the extra sink, the great shower with ample hot water and water pressure as well as our balcony. All employees were very helpful and professional. It was great being two blocks from the beach and one block from downtown shopping and restaurants. We would certainly stay there again.

Don't bother with this tired, out of step hotel. First of all the toilet seat would not stay up which is a problem for guys. The hotel technician told me, "Yeah we know they don't function but we have ordered new ones." Really. I asked the front desk person if they could switch out the toilet seat from an unused room. I was told no, that's against hotel policy.
Some of the shower fixtures were loose. Nice.
I should have taken a picture of the itty, bitty soap in the room upon arrival. I could wash one armpit. Getting new soap or extra was like pulling teeth from some of the front desk people. I literally had to ask twice at one point. It's as if they had none in stock. Cheap, cheap, cheap. For gosh sakes you are spending $400 bucks a night and they treat soap and shampoo like gold.
Getting a reservation at the hotel restaurant was a circus. Apparently the front desk, concierge and restaurant people don't talk to each other. I made three calls and finally got to the restaurant and was told yes you can make a reservation for dinner in the dining room. The front desk told me there was only seating in the bar area and the restaurant was closed, period. Not.
I asked for a printed out final invoice at checkout. The front desk woman struggled to find a working printer. After waiting 7 minutes I told her I would come back after packing the car.
I go to Traverse City at least once a year and usually stay at the Courtyard by Marriott but thought what the heck, I'll give the Park Place a shot. Never again. The dump needs a total reboot. Back to the Marriott.

We got a noise complaint in our room for regular talking after 11pm and security came to our room and told us we could be evicted. I called the front desk because I thought they must have heard the tv playing in our room and the manager said that after 11pm we could only talk in whispers and use our “library” voices. I said it would have been nice to know that before we were threatened with eviction and asked him why were not informed at check in about the “library” voices requirement, which he had no answers for why were not informed. I am so disappointed with the hotel and will not be coming back. If you plan on coming here be informed about “library” voices after 11pm.

The hotel received several complaints about the particular room several times. The second time security went up, after 1 am, noise coming from the room was clearly audible as soon as the person came out of the elevator. Other guests near the room were upset by being awaken by them.

Ok this place is dirty, it’s old, moldy and crummy. It’s hard to sleep in a place this gross. The room configurations are such that a room will be situated with a next door neighbor you’ll hear sniffling, and more. No offense to the help but the room cleaners are not clean themselves. We had two teenage boys cleaning our 1 room ( we did change during our stay.) In fairness the people at the front desk are nice and try hard, but they can’t invest the money to improve the old dump. They can’t wash the walls, Re carpet the place, clean out the ventilation system. I think the place was probably something in its day.. that day being the 1940’s. Board of Health should have stepped in long ago . The owner of this place is seemingly putting not a penny in it. It’s the kind of place you put up with if your car breaks down on the interstate. At $350+ a night, it’s thievery.

Hello, I'm glad to hear that my front desk staff was friendly and I can assure you that our entire staff tries exceptionally hard to make sure each and everyone of our guests has a wonderful stay. Currently our maintenance and housekeeping teams are working through a deep clean and preventative maintenance program in each of our guest rooms which will hopefully correct some of the issues you experienced. If you'd like to further discuss your stay, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

This hotel is okay if you just need a room for the night. It is located within a sh0rt walk of the city center. The wifi is free. The room included a TV, an iron, ironing board,
a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer and coffeemaker. Breakfast was included with the price of the room. We had a long wait as the restaurant was very short staffed.

My family and I booked 2 rooms. The hotel felt weary and in need of a good cleaning, especially the carpeting in the rooms. The shower curtains were old and so was the bedding. Old towels and most everything was decorated a dull brow. The architecture and location were both great.
The write up says “ recently renovated” which was not true. This place has potential, but was just barely adequate.

I stayed in the old part and, though it was recently "redone," I just did not like the decor at all. Lots of blacks and grays and chrome. Traverse City is such a beautiful part of the state and the decor just did not fit in my estimation. I'm not sure what the new part likes like.
