The hotel is better than average. It’s clean and the location seems safe. The rooms are really small. As diamond members we are used to frequent upgrades so this seems really tight. The shower is okay but the bottles on the side along with the grab bar made it extra tight. Other reviews talk about the room noise. Nothing was a problem but we could hear the television next door in the morning. I’m sure they could hear us as well. The breakfast was fine. free is always good. The nightly rate was high but that seemed to be seasonal.

We arrived in our handicapped accessible room (we are not handicapped and did not request an accessible room) to find it completely dark. When we tried to raise the blind we found it broken. After calling the front desk she said “ oh yeah, the previous guest reported this issue. We told her the room was completely dark from the blackout shade. She said she would come up with some clips for the blind. While not thrilled with the idea of having to jerry rig our blinds every time we wanted light, we awaited her arrival for the “fix”. She shows up about 15 mins later with 2 coat hangers with the clips for hanging pants. We refused this solution and after much arguing were finally assigned a new room with working blinds and not handicapped accessible. This is not what I expect when paying nearly $250 a night.

I have 2 questions in my mind. Why would you check someone into a room you know had a broken blind, and when we called down why did you not move us immediately?

We did book directly through the hotel and have diamond status, so we should have at least been afforded a working room without argument. Never again.

This Hampton must be really popular because for years, I'd check availability, and it would be booked up to a year in advance. We finally got a room booked and came for a three night stay. The room was comfortable, and breakfast was good. The front desk was good to us as well. Our only complaint was the sliding bathroom doors. It's hard to get shut all the way so others can't look in. The shower was a little small, but I am a bigger person, so that's on me. We could also hear the people next door raise and lower their shades really clear. But it is a good place across from the bay.

I would not recommend this hotel for anyone. Our hockey team stayed there for a tournament this past weekend and it was terrible to say the least. We were not notified that the pool OR gym was unavailable prior to our stay due to renovations. The renovations were not just in those areas, as plastic over the carpet went all the way up to the 4th floor where we stayed. Breakfast was not ready prior to one of our games that we had to be at the rink at 6:15am for. We were told we could not change the television channel in the lobby. The rooms were awfully small (full mattress at best, not queen like stated) and it was uncomfortable. The pending transaction(s) for my stays are more than what I was told both on the phone and during check-in. Again, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Front desk, breakfast person, and house keeping we walked by were super pleasant. They were happier than the customers which was odd. Breakfast was solid everyday. Breakfast area was always kept clean. Complaint and what made this a terrible experience was the smell of the 4th floor hallway, the dirt on 4th floor hallway and me walking in dog crap residue on the elevator. I am a diamond hilton meme SR and stay at Hilton properties all the time. Over the past couple of years I noticed the increase in pets. This location has by far more pets. When my girlfriend spoke to the front desk they were frustrated too. They said guest were sneaking pets in and there was way more pets than were supposed to be on prem. Managagement needs to figure this out. We stay 3 nights. Day 3 I had to call and tell the front desk the elevator needed cleaned because a guest dog crapped on the elevator and the guest did a terrible job cleaning up after their dog. Left crap residue on the elevator carpet. Thank you. Every morning we had a dog barking outside our door as the guest left while we were still in bed. Hilton needs to make deidicated pet floors. The last day the hotel and hallways were hot. The smell of dog urine was so bad that I knew we just needed to fore go breakfast and check out because we did not want to walk through that again. What do people with pet allergies do? Hilton needs to figure this out. I will not be back to this site and thinking of finding a new hotel chain. This is a Hilton issue not traverse city MI Hampton in

We stayed 3 nights and were in a different room each night. The 1st room was near the pool and exit and doors were frequently banging shut, which made it difficult to sleep. The 2nd room had a malfunction door lock which locked us out of our room several times. This required multiple trips down to the front desk to get different key cards. Sometimes the key cards would work for a few hours and other times not at all. We wasted several hours moving to different rooms and going to the front desk to report the problem and get new key cards. Also, the front desk person promised Hilton Honor points which I never received.

We stayed three nights in Traverse City at the Hampton Inn and had a perfect experience especially considering all the COVID precautions that are in place. We stayed in room 425 which is a very nice King Bed room with all the amenities we’ve come to expect from a Hilton Property. The morning breakfast is a Grab ‘n Go box with 2 eggs, Bagel and Cream cheese, Yogurt and Orange Juice. Basically everything I eat at home for breakfast so that all was great. Sue at the front desk is super nice, eager and helpful and seemed to always be there regardless of the time. Kathy also is a great hard worker handling the morning breakfast like a boss! The hotel is right across the street from the Bay so a really nice location and within walking distance to many nice restaurants. Highly recommend!

I inadvertently booked a room at this location on the evening of June 10, 2024. I later realized that same night I booked the wrong location and called the next morning- less than 12 hours later- and attempted to cancel the booking. I was told the booking was non-refundable, but a nice lady named Sue said if Expedia would call her, she would tell them there was no objection to my cancelling. That was at 8:30 am or earlier on June 11,2024. Expedia then said they would call the property and have a supervisor follow up. Since I didn’t hear back from Expedia, I just called their help line again. This time the Expedia rep got the hotel on the line and explained the situation and also explained Sue’s saying the reservation can be cancelled without penalty. Nevertheless, when the Expedia rep spoke to the person NOT named Sue, he said it wasn’t his problem that I made a mistake in the booking and insisted on charging the fee. I have been a Hilton Diamond member for years, and have never received this type of service in any other location. When the price of travel is already expensive, customer service doesn’t cost a dime. Since this Hampton Inn apparently can’t afford even that for its customers, I would advise everyone to avoid it.

The good. The bed was comfortable and sheets appeared clean.
The bad. The bed skirt had something on it. Not sure what. The carpet was stained up. I honestly didn't want to walk on it without shoes. The mirror and hangings had so much dust built up I doubt it had been dusted this year. The desk had various hairs. One dark and long, one shorter and blonde. Plus crumbs and dust. I honestly just tried not to touch it. Believe what others say about the water. Pressure was ok. But even after running a long time we just reached a slight warm. Last, to get free wifi you had to sign up through their rewards system and basically had to give away any and all personal information. So basically no wifi without signing up for all the stuff you don't ever want to receive from them. There are so many better places in Traverse City. I can't imagine why anyone would choose to stay here

I chose this hotel because I wanted to soak in the hot tub after a day of skiing and to let the kids swim. The hot tub was drained and closed off with caution tape. The pool was so cold my kids wouldn’t swim in it which says a lot.

Our original room was so small we needed to transfer. The double beds meant for two adults per bed wouldn’t fit two 50 lb children.

The room had such a bad draft it was freezing in the unit.

The funny thing is, this is the only hotel ever in my life to not send an email for a review. They know they are embarrassing.

This hotel is so bad it gives Hilton a bad name. Hilton should not allow this hotel to be their brand.
