Well, for starters, just looking at the place and knowing some of the history, you KNOW it's not going to be super modern. It was very comfortable. The biggest issue was the thin walls. I was concerned that the other guests in the basement lounge area were being too loud as we were about to go to sleep. Whether it...

If you want the modern conveniences of a chain hotel, then this isn't your place, but if you want a charming throw-back to the 20's, Gordon Beach Inn is a treat. It's old fashioned and cozy, has a fascinating history and one of the best restaurants around. They had mistakenly booked us during the middle of the week when they...

Bare necessity bed and bath, Clean and friendly. Thin walls. Close to relaxing beach access. Extremely great price compared to other lodging venues in the area. I would stay again to avoid over inflated costs. Fantastic old tub that maintains water temperature much better than modern tubs.

Stayed last min memorial weekend. The room was old with a scratched up tub, nasty lamp shade and 80s tv.(like other reviews) the bar area was nice looking and smelled great but the rooms are terrible. You can update an old building and still keep that old style.Coffee not made till 8;00 so I had to drive to mcds for coffee. You can...

The room was very basic but mostly clean. Bring your own toiletries including hair dryer and shampoo. And even though it's listed is a "bed and breakfast" breakfast costs another $12 per person and is served at the sister Inn up the road. We probably won't be back.

We recently spent two nights here. The inn is reminiscent of a bygone era. The woodwork is absolutely beautiful. The general area of Union Pier reminds me of the '60s and 70s vacations of my childhood. Fun to see old cabins and inns. Unfortunately, the big thing lacking here was service. When we arrived, there was a very nice woman...

Not enjoyable at all!!! Overpriced, whirlpool tub was dirty, very dusty, old piping very loud! Drunk people next to us, you can't call anyone because no one's there. Restaurant looked good, but wait staff were not friendly, so we didn't try it. Pass on this one!

I felt like I was stepping back in time when I entered this lovely old gem of a hotel. The rooms are very basic but clean. The beds might be a little more comfortable and tne windows could use modernization, but everything feels authentic to the early 20th century. (They do provide a small 1990s-era TV in the old wardrobe,...

Stayed here when the sister property was booked. The best thing going for it is the help, everyone was friendly and helpful, beyond that we were disappointed. For one thing it's dirty....the entrance was littered with cigarette butts, the carpet was filthy, the floors unswept and so on. A historic place showing its age can be charming, neglect and filth...

We stayed at the Gordon Beach Inn to attend a wedding at Lakeside Inn (they are jointly owned). We needed 3 rooms at Lakeside and they were already booked so it was suggested that we stay at Gordon beach Inn. I was a little hesitant to stay there but am glad that we did. We needed 3 rooms for 5...
