2 couples went for the weekend. The accommodations were comfortable and lovely. The cottage was very interesting. The breakfasts were amazing. Great coffee. Lots of special areas inside and out to enjoy. The special add on, a chocolate Birthday cake was amazing, so decadent. Will plan future occasions. The playhouse across the street adds even more reasons to visit. Thank you Lisa.

Super enjoyable. Really cute. Adorable hosts. Would recommend. Breakfast was ok. But the stay was everything we dream it would be. The jacuzzi was amazing. Loved the town and the drive along the lake.

Larry and Lisa have a wonderful bed and breakfast experience at their Cocoa Cottage. They magnify all the the conveniences, personal touch, and luxuries a B&B can offer over a Hotel at the same price. Their homemade truffles are exquisite—that’s a lot coming from someone who’s surveyed chocolate from chocolatiers all over the world from small batch chocolatiers making single origin Madagascar or chuao and Dos Rios bars, to world famous chocolatiers at Amedei, Amano, Valrhona, etc.—as is their breakfast and home made fudge. I thoroughly enjoyed how they modernized the 1902 home without losing any of the charm or feel of that age. The whirlpool jetted tub was a real winner for us, too. I highly recommend, especially if it’s your first time at a B&B.

We quickly planned a Lake Michigan Circle tour, and needed a place to stay the last night in southern Michigan and found this via Tesla Destination charging. Normally, hubby does not like B&Bs but I was charmed by the room names and booked it, and it won him over, too. Very clean and strict adherence to COVID protocols -- this was the only place we stayed where we did not wipe everything upon entry, and wipes and sanitizer were abundant). The house is absolutely gorgeous -- aside from modern kitchen appliances and coffee maker & mini-fridge, all furniture, lamps, even light-switches are Arts & Crafts. As Chicago Bungalow Dwellers, with a modest Stickley collection, we were teal-green with envy. Breakfast was at a decent hour (Bertie Wooster time, not 7 am) and a fabulous balance of protein, chocolate and fruit. Larry provided a lot of useful travel tips as well. I am pretty sure that the bar has been set too high and we will be disappointed by other B&Bs.
