We had an all too brief one night stay here as part of our tour of South Island. Hosts June and Murray are former farmers who have semi-retired to run the B&B (the farming operation is in the hands of family). We received a warm country welcome and Murray whisked us away for a tour of the area in his...

We had the privilege of staying at the beautiful house "Waterside" which apart from being a wonderful house also stands in such beautiful surroundings offering panoramic views of the estuary. June and Murray are such a wonderful couple, and as previous reviewers have commented June makes a delicious breakfast which sets you up for the day! The area as a...

June and Murray are a wonderfully welcoming couple with a wealth of stories about the farm and the area. The breakfasts will see you all through the day, if you can get up from the table afterwards! The bungalow is quietly tucked away on a gravel road but within easy reach of all the local sights. We were lucky to...

A little off the beaten track - up some quiet backroads. The welcome was warm, the room was spacious and the breakfast was sumptuous. Spent some time in the company of June and Murray which we really enjoyed, they are lovely people.

This was, by far, one of the best accomodations we had in New Zealand. Instead of praising assets, I´ll mention shortcomings : NONE. The Catlins are a beautiful, not much visited, área. Lush vegetation, caves, waterfalls. Curio bay´s petrified forest, and you may also be lucky and see yellow eyed penguins ( hoiho ), returning at dusk. When in Southland,...

We tried to book in the Catlins farmstay but as they were full, we stayed in their Waikawa Waterside holiday house which is truly beautiful with views over the bay and it is even even closer to Porpoise Bay and Curio Bay for seeing the dolphins and seals. The house is modern and really luxurious with 3 bedrooms and a...

June and Murray were very nice hosts in this special place in the middle of the Catlins. Clean, modern and very comfortable rooms in the setting of a beautiful and well kept garden situated next to the gravel road. We arrived a bit early but were welcomed with tea and pastry in the garden. Breakfast was very sumptuous and the...

The BnB is perfect situated in the heart of the Catlins, and is therefore a perfect location to stay when traveling through this beautiful part of NZ. Nice, clean, spacious rooms, the hosts are very friendly. Penguin and dolphin spotting is close by!

We arrived at 24 December 2014 just before teatime. We were invited to have tea with homemade pie in the garden. June and Murray are wonderful hosts. Our breakfast in the morning, Christmas day, was overwhelming. And June just replied "o it is not much more than a regular breakfast". Next time we will definitely stay a bit longer to...
