My husband and I stayed at Bayside Resort for one week and were overwhelmed by the cleanliness, construction and style of the cabin. The views were amazing and the place was very peaceful. Melissa greeted us and was available should we need anything. This resort is a diamond and provides peace, tranquility, and connection with nature - with everything you need provided - just move in with your luggage and food. The bed was very comfortable - everything was beyond expectations. We will definitely book to come back. We have stayed at other resorts on the Island and Bayside tops them all. The price is very reasonable. What a privilege to have had this time here. Annie and Gerry Boucher.

Melissa is organized and very hospitable as the welcoming host of the cabins. Our weather was horrible but the log cabin is a great insulator and the heater provided did a great job of keeping us warm.
We had a lovely 3 days… sad we missed Mum’s in Mindemoya because we were there during the two days they are closed. Bayside is relaxing and rejuvenating. If you’re looking for a “nature at your front door” retreat this is the place to go.

Melissa you and your family have a beautiful property and cabins and are wonderful gracious hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our 9 days at Bayside, it was a perfect base from which to explore your magnificent sacred island and to sit by the shore and inhale the peace and beauty.
We would love to return again!

Beautiful wilderness lake scenery, a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life! Golf and fishing close by. My cabin was clean and comfortable with a nice balcony for a spectacular view of the lake and sunsets.

Beautiful newly built modern cottages. The design is rustic, with wooden beams and stairs.
The cottages are clean, fully equipped, include bedding and all what you may need in the kitchen; you only have to bring towels with you.
Wonderful deck and crystal clear water in the lake, canoes and paddle boats are available free of charge. Cottage location is great - peaceful and quiet.
Check in and check out were easy.
We liked everything about this place except for the fact that the water is being delivered to the cottage on a scheduled basis. Water supply ran out during our stay and we ended up not being able to cook, shower or flush toilet for an evening and a night. Owners were away during that time and got back to us only next morning. Emergency phone numbers listed on the fridge were outdated, it was difficult to get hold of the owners. Melissa called a couple of times following the incident to find out if everything was ok.
Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing stay. We would definitely want to come back.

Stayed here with another family at the end of August. The resort is small but perfect. Cabins are wonderful and clean. Resort is run by a family who live in one of the cabins. The owners are lovely and very hospitable. Water is beautiful and the dock is lovely for morning coffee. Easy to get to anyhwhere on the island. We would highly recommend Bayside! You wont be disappointed!

For our first trip to Manitoulin Island, my wife & I looked at all possibilities for accommodations. We were set on Inn at Gore Bay with the pub next to it, but I kept looking. I found Bayside Resort & it caught my attention. We stayed here for 2 nights & could not be more pleased with the choice. It's a 3 cabin "OASIS" on the Island. We chose the more spacious cabin #2. Melissa & her team are absolutely outstanding. Not only are they professional about their property, they are down to earth people that you can have interactions with while you're here with no problem.
The cabin/cottage is immaculate. Fresh, clean, all the amenities you need from bedding, great shower, dining, full kitchen, comfortable living room furniture with Shaw satellite & every channel you can imagine at your fingertips.
Muskoka chairs on front patio, bbq, side picnic table with umbrella, fire pit. A few step walk to the lakefront & you have numerous muskoka chairs to sit in & enjoy a tranquil out of this world sunset.
We only had 1 full day to explore the island & from this location in 6 hours with numerous stops & not rushing at all, we visited Providence Bay...walked the beach & ate at the restaurant; then drove to Mindemoya Cave...20 min walk once there & well worth it; then to Janet Head Lighthouse just north of Gore Bay where we walked a bit on the beach & had our picnic lunch; then around Gore Bay to East Bluff Lookout which looks down on Gore Bay from the other side; then to Bridal Veil Falls where we walked behind the falls & walked in the water below. Many people were swimming.
Groceries, lcbo/beer, gas are all no more than a 20 min drive from here.
Bottom line is....we highly recommend this OASIS on the Island to anyone & everyone. We will definitely be back!!!

Our family was pleasantly surprised to find these cottages located on the Wikwemikong Reserve on Manitoulin Island. We needed accommodations for a weekend while we attended a ball tournament in the Wikwemikong Community. My husband and I, our 4 year old daughter, my mother in law and father in law all fit comfortably in the gorgeous 3 bedroom cottage. These cottages are new builds, not the run down shacks that most people rent out on the island. Kitchen was fully equipped and even provided coffee and sugar. Dining table was spacious. Beds were clean and comfortable. Shoreline is just steps from the door. There is even a private patio with BBQ with each cottage. Shower was a walk in glass stall, very modern and beautiful. Every feature was in keeping with the log frame style of the building. My only caution would be that the stairs are fairly steep and I believe the loft bedrooms in the other cabins are accessed by ladder.
Also, the heat method is by radiant floor heat, so it can't be easily adjusted. It was unfortunately very chilly during our stay and because the heat is a continuous method, it was not turned on for the season.
This place is ideal because it is so beautiful, they have flexible and convenient booking, where as most places only book on a weekly basis in the area. The price was incredibly reasonable. Most similarly priced rentals in the area are run down shacks from the 40's-70's. Highly recommend and it is First Nations family owned, which we were very happy to contribute to supporting their business.
