Our family enjoyed our time on the Voyagaire Houseboat! We loved the scenery! The boat was very comfortable for all of us, and our family time while fishing, kayaking, hiking and playing trivia at night was priceless! The staff went out of their way to help us when called. Thanks Jim and Gretchen for a Great Week!!

We happened on the Lodge as a relatively late reservation. While Crane Lake (town) does not look upscale, the Lodge definitely is. Our room was large, had a beautiful view of the lake (ask for room 9) and was meticulously maintained. We ate in the bar both nights and found the walleye to be well prepared and nicely priced. We chose the bar over the dining room as the menu is the same in both places. Crane Lake is a bit of drive from any of the visitors centers at Voyageurs National Park, we found returning to the hotel to be just what we wanted after a long tourist day. The staff was extremely pleasant. The only things that keep me from giving this an excellent rating are that the bathroom in the room is rather small , but adequate, and the staff was not as knowledgeable

We stayed at the Voyagaire Lodge the night prior to starting our houseboat vacation (we used Voyagaire Houseboats - see separate review of Voyagaire Houseboats). The lodge was perfect for our family and extended family. We rented Suite 14, which included a great view of the lake. The room has three beds and a sofa bed, so it sleeps eight people. It also has a large family room area with a small kitchen. Breakfast in the restaurant is included in the price of the room. The lodge is within walking distance of the Vermillion Gorge trailhead. I highly recommend you trek the 3 mile round trip to see the Vermillion Gorge. The power of the water as it cuts through the cliffs and empties into Crane Lake is amazing. Just be sure to were mosquito repellent if you're hiking June -

We had a relaxing time on the Isabelle with 3 generations celebrating the beauty of God's creation and each other. The kitchen was well equipped, but we missed the note to bring your own dish and hand soaps, so we had to have a special delivery to wash our dishes and hands. The delivery service, along with check-in and boat instruction were great! We forgot our Cutco cheese knife on the boat and didn't figure that out until about 10 days after our departure and they found it and mailed it back to us!

I would have to say this was one of the most fun trip I have ever been on. Some of the high point of our trip were the lack of people around us at any one time. The customer service and hospitality was WAY more then 5 stars in my opinion..... They have this crew that helps you load and unload your house boat - It consisted of a small army of VERY polite staff and college age young adults. All of them are very polite and very helpful with any questions. The hospitality service - We went into this trip thinking we would never use it. We were WRONG. What a great benefit and idea. We used it every day!!! Saved our butts a few times. You know- we were out of beer... :) 5 Stars ***** only bigger!!!

We rented 2 of the sportscruisers for our family(12 people)It was a great time, fairly easy to find sites to camp at throughout the four lakes. A little boating and map reading experience will help though a quick tutorial will be given before you head out. Cell use is limited so an app for maps will be helpful. Hospitality is provided for a fee$80, includes food, bait, ice, alcohol etc. fridge is like an rv size so with some planning and cooler you can make it a week. Ice is available at kettle falls. service via marine radio is helpful and easy, can always connect to base or someone to help. Service was great! A little about our boat... Sportscruisers- penthouse is a ladder to climb up to a 3 foot head room with mattress and a little storage space. Bedroom has some

Rented a houseboat for several days in Voyageur National park. Boats are not new, but periodically updated. Everything worked and everything was clean. Checkout was thorough and right on time. We stayed the night before in the lodge, had breakfast, and were on our way by 9am. We had the food provisioned. The food and drinks were stowed on the boat, were very good and plentiful. Supplemented by fresh fish we caught, meals were a highlight cooked on the gas grill, electric stove and oven. The refrigerator was huge for a boat and efficient enough to make ice in the freezer. Downside of the all-electric galley is the need to run generator for 6 hrs a day to keep everything charged. By oversight, there was no salt and pepper: a call to Voyagaire base had a courtesy boat deliver it

Voyagaire Houseboats is a family run business that is second to none!! We have a 14 year old boy and 11 year old girl that want to back today. We just got off yesterday from a 7 night trip. Fishing was great weather was even better we will be back next year. Just a fyi in my opinion the hospitality service is a big deal when 60+ miles away from the lodge going to get ice can use up most of your day,and the charge for a bag of ice is the same as the gas stations so don't go to a place that does not do daily deliveries to your boat!!!

It was our first houseboat adventure, and I think we nailed it. Voyagaire has reasonable rates and quick access to Voyageurs National Park through Crane Lake. We arrived and the shore crew was immediately loading our stuff on our rented boat and then we got thorough lessons on how to operate, maintain, and navigate the houseboat. It turned out to be easier than even the orientation was leading us to believe. We only went as far as the western side of Namakan Lake and spent 5 days at a lovely houseboat site on Namakan Island. We had no luck fishing but it was July and warm and we weren't all that serious about it. Mostly we relaxed, did a bit of touring with the required tow-behind motorboat, and just enjoyed living on the water. The sunrise each morning out our bedroom

Park your rented houseboat on an island and fish and play all day. Listen to the loons and adventure in Voyagaire National Park. Sit out on the upper deck and watch the meteors and amazingly clear night sky. This was our first trip and we'll be coming back again and again. The staff is THE friendliest and helpful staff.
