Jim couldn't be kinder. So informative and gracious toward this couple who had never been to Duluth. His wife, Joan, is an excellent cook. She made our breakfasts memorable. The home itself was quaint and charming. Just what you would expect in a Victorian home. Five stars go to Jim and Joan.

Love the character of the house. We stayed in the Daisy suite and spent most of our time in the sunroom, cozy! The house could use a little updating but our host was wonderful and friendly and breakfast was delicious.

My boyfriend & I stayed here for a weekend getaway...very impressed! I love old homes so I enjoyed how the 1900s was preserved. The bed was comfortable, blankets soft and atmosphere is quiet. The breakfast both mornings was AMAZING! I would definitely stay here again! The hosts Jim & Joan love to talk so if you are in a hurry...

We have been to the Ellery House twice and have been struck by the warmth and welcome of our host Jim. In business for over 25 years, Jim still has passion and energy for connecting with guests and making them feel taken care of. Housed in an 1890 Queen Victorian home, it has the antiques, vintage china etc..that one would...

We loved our stay at the Ellery House. It was the perfect place to just settle in for a weekend away. Enjoying sunshine, looking at the lake, and sitting by a fire - what better way to pass a cold winter weekend.

We visited Duluth last june for 4 days in our three week holiday in Minnesota and Cape Cod. We had a great time in this beautiful house. The rooms are nicely decorated, spacious enough and clean. Jim, the owner, is a great guy, we had long talks along breakfast about the big differences between Europe and the USA. And this...

Beautiful, old Victorian in an interesting neighborhood, engaging innkeeper and wonderful breakfast--what more can one ask for? The house is well kept and Jim and Joan are great hosts. Also, the price was reasonable. We stayed in Lila's Room. We would go back. Not much more to be said.

Jim was a great host and the breakfast was amazing - lots of wonderful fruit and the egg dish was fabulous. I like the option of having breakfast in the room. We stayed in the Thomas Wahl room and enjoyed breakfast looking out over the lake and the ice flows. Very comfortable room.

My husband and I stayed at the Ellery House for a week to relax, visit the hawk migration, enjoy the magic of Lake Superior. We have stayed at the Ellery House before, three years ago, and loved it. We loved it this time, too! Jim and Joan are excellent hosts, and the house is simply gorgeous. We stayed in Daisy's...

Not providing a good value for the price and not being kept up - needs to be freshened up - looking a bit worn and tattered. Not the best location - on a busy noisy street. Plus got sick after eating the cream cheese egg bread pudding and bacon for breakfast.
