Nestled in a prime location, Park Point Marina Inn is celebrated by many for its serene atmosphere, featuring cozy rooms adorned with nautical themes and captivating marina views. The staff's helpfulness and efficient services, such as the shuttle and smores bar, are often praised, enhancing the overall guest experience. While the hotel's cleanliness and diverse amenities, including a sauna and hot tub, receive consistent acclaim, guests' opinions on value are mixed, with some noting higher costs. The entire trip was very resort luxurious. Park point sent text reminders all along the way from reminding about check in with complimentary snacks with drink purchase to breakfast times to all of their available amenities including s’mores bar, free bicycle rental, dvd check out, etc. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were all wonderful even with the teenage boys splashing. After 10pm is adults only. There is a 24 hour gym. The whole hotel is set up around boats. My 10 year old niece loves playing with the wheel out front and all the rest of the stuff that normally belongs on a real ship! The views of the sunrise and the US Coast guard were beyond gorgeous! We saw ducks, geese, seagulls, and a hawk all from our balcony. All of the staff were friendly and super helpful. I needed to print off some directions and was able to use their printer and computer. Their breakfast spread is top notch! It was a tad chilly to enjoy the outdoor playground, but they do have a cute outdoor area with a fire pit as well! Will for sure return! Also appreciated the motion censored hallway lights. It is nice that they shut off when no one is there.

I couldn’t be more pleased with my recent stay at Park Point Marina Inn. My friend and I stayed here for our trip to run Grandmas Marathon. For location, it is approximately .5 miles from the finish line which was close enough to walk to post race but also far enough to not feel like we were in the middle of all the craziness. Sometimes hotels tend to be extremely busy and crazy during race weekends and this was quiet! Our room was on the first floor which I typically don’t like because of noise but there was none. Race morning they offered shuttles to the start buses and opened coffee/breakfast to the runners at 330. Room was spacious and had a fridge snd microwave which was great for heating and storing our own food. Housekeeping was great…we decline a daily cleaning but helped accommodate us with by giving us fresh towels when we needed them and taking our trash daily. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back next year!

We recently spent the night in Duluth and stayed at this property. We were greeted so warmly upon arrival and the front desk upgraded us to a room with a beautiful view of the marina and a spacious deck with a table and two chairs! What a wonderful surprise! From the moment we walked in, we felt as though they were taking safety precautions due to Covid, as everything was sparkling clean and we were told that masks are required on property. This hotel is across the lift bridge from Canal Park, but it is truly the best place to stay and there’s a free shuttle to the shops and restaurants. If you like to walk, you can also just walk a couple blocks across the lift bridge yourself. We found our room to be extremely clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. There is also a cold breakfast available in the mornings with plenty to choose from. You just grab what you need and take it up to your room due to the fact that the Minnesota health department has banned all hot buffets for the time being. I would not hesitate to stay here in the future, in fact we are already thinking of taking another short trip in the coming months. The staff was very gracious and accommodating and we couldn’t have been more pleased!

We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. While we understood there would be some changes in amenities due to COVID it felt like the staff took that to mean it was unnecessary to offer any hospitality at all! For over $200 per night we had to make our own bed, clean room wipe down bathroom and make sure towels and trash were put outside our door and request clean towels and coffee service refills. The only place we could gather was outside on patio which was on west side of bldg and of the 5 or 6 tables only 2 had umbrellas. The trash in that area was never emptied in the 2 1/2 days we were there so we fought bees the whole time we were outside. This hotel was not worth $200 on a good day much less when we had to do everything ourselves. View of marina didn't equal the price of a "Hotel on the water". Will never stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay at Park Point, the balcony is a great perk especially if you get the marina/harbor view. This hotel is on the other side of the aerial bridge from canal park, but only a block away from 12th street beach. We really appreciated that during this time with covid they still offered their guests a complimentary breakfast of packaged items. Hotel was clean, beds were comfy and pool and spa is small but great! Staff was friendly; we had ordered a late night pizza from their room service, it was affordable, quick and delicious.
We would definitely stay here again.

Unfortunately this hotel was appalling. Firstly they got the room allocation wrong, and then the room had barely been cleaned. For the price they’re charging you would expect them over two days to service the room at least once, excuse they gave was Covid! “We don’t service rooms anymore”

Yet all the other hotels in the area are servicing the rooms daily, changing towels and cleaning the bathrooms

The breakfast was terrible, poor choice with hardly anything fresh.

We would highly recommend avoiding this hotel and despite the fantastic views of the harbour, focus on many of the other branded hotels in the area of a much better quality and facilities. Also same prices. This hotel needs investment, replacing the mattresses and bedding at the least.

The plus side is, the staff were very friendly and were trying their best. This is a ownership and leadership problem

Disappointing

This is our first visit to Duluth. My family and I stayed two nights and three days at Park Point Marina Inn and we were pleased with our choice in terms of comfort, location, harbor view, free shuttle and the safety measures taken by staff during this unprecedented times which also included no hot breakfast. The staff at the front desk and housekeeping were polite and friendly. We are definitely going to return to this Inn when we visit Duluth again!

We were in Duluth for our 1st vacation since the pandemic began and we chose the Park Point as our 1st hotel stay in 3 years. We chose the Park Point because of its location and it’s harbor view. We were given room 120 which is one of the rooms furthest away from the lobby and near the side parking lot. One of the things I was looking forward to was to watch the harbor from bed but because of the layout of the room and the position of the room to the left of the harbor, you couldn’t see water from the bed but instead the parking lot and harbor driveway. I was somewhat bummed out but you did get a good view when standing at the window or on the patio itself. The Coast Guard ice-breaking ship was pretty cool to see docked in the harbor.

The room was clean and was a good size. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The bathroom was really large for a hotel bathroom and the towels were very nice. We are very COVID careful so we appreciated that the windows could open slightly for ventilation and we kept the patio door open at times for more ventilation. It made us feel very comfortable to know we had access to good ventilation. Some of the reviews complained about not having cleaning service during your stay but we didn’t mind this as we didn’t want anyone in our room. Staff is happy to bring extra supplies to you such as extra toilet paper and towels as needed.

The breakfast was pretty good for a continental. There were lots of options including hot food. Of course, they have the make-your-own waffle irons (with lots of topping options including strawberries!) but they also had different egg options, sausage, and potatoes along with breads/pastries and oatmeal. Food was replenished often and we did not have to wait in line (we always went around 7am).

Staff was very friendly and the communication with the hotel was great. They checked in often via text to give updates with happenings at the hotel and making sure everything was ok.

Location was good. Just a couple blocks from the Lift Bridge and a short drive to Park Point Beach. You can walk to Canal Park but we chose to drive so we could drive to other areas as well. We didn’t use the shuttle but that would be a good option to get to Canal Park.

Recommendations in the area are the North Shore scenic drive (highly recommend Gooseberry Falls and Black Beach), Vista Fleet boat tours, Park Point Beach, Spirit Mountain (the alpine roller coaster was fun!), and the Aquarium. Northern Waters Smokehaus in Canal Park was fantastic and I highly recommend for lunch as it is not too far from the hotel.

We would definitely stay at Park Point again but next time we would ask for a room on a higher floor and one closer to the lobby so we could see the water from bed.

Our room was clean and comfortable, however, I was extremely disappointed in the costumer service at this inn. My fiancé and I were so excited to have a day where we could sleep in and have a relaxing morning. We woke up 8:30 to a house keeper next door slamming the door for 30 minutes straight. The house keeper was going in and out of the door while the door stopper was out. Every time the door shut it made a very loud banging noise. It was hard to even watch tv with that noise. That morning the breakfast was good, just wish the staff was more pleasant and welcoming. This Inn did not live up to our “Minnesota Nice” reputation.

We stayed for one night in December to enjoy Bentleyville and this hotel was great! It was clean, quiet (though it was very full!), and the room was spacious. We had a land view and even that wasn't all that bad! The only negative is that I wish they did more to enforce their COVID protocols. While they had plenty of hand sanitizer and the staff wore masks, they did not enforce that rule on their guests or their own posted rooms about the number of people allowed in places at a time. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend it.

Hello Stephanie, thank you for the wonderful review! We are so glad you enjoyed our land view accommodations. Next time check out our harbor view rooms for a fantastic view of the Duluth Harbor and accompanying marina. Our Stay Smart, Stay Healthy guidelines include our staff wearing masks, the suspension of stayover service to reduce guest and team member contact, and that masks for guests are required on our shuttle. Our guest and team member safety is our utmost priority and I will certainly pass your feedback along. The Park Point Marina Inn staff would love for you to visit us again in the future!
