I stayed here for the night after attending a wedding in the local area and found the owners to be extremely warm and welcoming! The rooms are clean and the bed was really comfy. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely lovely pub and lovely area however our visit was sadly ruined by a rude and obtuse bar maid on a Friday night at half past eleven when the pub was full of locals and other people trying to enjoy their Friday night.
Group of ten friends arrived unannounced and were made to feel most welcome, no problem fitting us in around other customers.
Great choice of food, standard menu & daily specials, ten cleared plates & ten happy customers.

I had a very frendly welcome, a good country pub. A nice meal, with good beer. I was made to feel very welcome after a day on the road. I was only passing through for one night but it worked very well for me.

I can tell you that The Cottage has been under new ownership since March and has been extensively renovated internally, this is now a thriving pub with big screen sports and a larger bar area. They don't do any food but not sure about rooms - ring them (Clive and Rachael are the owners)
