What wonderful friendly people who own/run this property, and a true example or Minnesotan hospitality! My family and I rented a two bedroom cabin for one night on our way further north to canoe in BWCA. We joked that we wished we could just continue staying there. The cabin we stayed in was refreshingly simple and pleasant, with everything we...

I have stayed here many times, always a delight. They are dog friendly, and right on the water. The cabins are very homey, and the motel rooms all have kitchenettes. It's not one of those fancy resorts that, frankly, make me feel like I don't belong, but an old fashioned comfy place. No TV in the cabins, just the sound...

I guess this is an OK place for the money, but I would not stay there again. The walls are thin and I could hear people talking in the next room until 12:30 am. Also, I didn't think my motel room was very clean. I walked around in my stocking feet for awhile and when I looked at them they...

Have been going to Solbakken resort for over 15 years. Nothing matches the attention detail by the staff. Rent Jonas House and appreciate the seclusion of the big lake. The Lodge offers a nice meeting place to get to know other guests. If you are looking for a great place to recharge yourself Solbakken is the answer all year round.

We chose Solbakken because they were listed on dogfriendly.com as a dog friendly resort. Solbakken is such a special place on the lake side of Hwy 61 in Lutsen, MN. We stayed in room #10 in the motel. It looks like a normal hotel room from the front, where you park your car outside your room and you enter through...

I stayed at the Solbakken Guest House with 5 other friends. This is an unbelievable find! We cozied up here for a weekend and skiied at Lutsen. Comfortable beds, great lighting, breathtaking winter views from the deck and kitchen/main room. Great deal when split with other people, too.

We visited Solbakken Resort with our son, daughter-in-law and her family over Labor Day weekend. While the others in the group had stayed there on previous occasions it was our first experience. We stayed in Jonas which comfortably slept 6 of us with 3 separate bedrooms and 3 full baths. The cabin is right on the water with a great...

The owner was very nice. Always a smile. We stayed in one of the motel rooms. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They can help you with any questions. The units have somewhat dated furnishings and such, but they are very clean and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. It's retro north woods. I liked it. There...

Our family of four just returned from a 5 night stay at Solbakken. It was lovely. We stayed in the Telemark suite. It was very clean and had everything we needed to make meals. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom very large. The fireplace was nice and we used it! The view from the living room and deck was...

stayed in motel, one nite only. Room was v clean and cozy. Great private deck and lake views. Nice lodge, very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Good value, exceeded our expectations. Love these Ma and Pa operations, happy to support them. These owners are great! What a pleasant surprise. Next time may opt for a cabin, lakeside. But, for...
