We chose The Commons due to its' proximity to the Masonic Cancer Center and we were pleasantly surprised. From our arrival to our departure our expectations were met. We both have traveled extensively and The Commons is now one of our most favorite stays.

I stay at the Commons Hotel several times a year for both business and pleasure. The property is nice and the location can't be beat. In the past, I've been rewarded with surprise upgrades that made the experience that much better. However, after several problems with noise and poorly trained staff, I may opt to stay elsewhere when I have... More

Stayed here while attending an event at the U of M Aquatic center. This was a perfect location allowing us to walk back and forth within minutes. They have a great room service menu with generous size portions. We were 2 adults and 2 kids in 2 queen size beds. There was plenty of dresser and closet space. The bathroom... More

The bottom line was a spacious room with a comfortable bed and clean facilities. So my complaints are not severe. But I do resent a hotel advertising "Complimentary wireless Internet" which turns out to be a superslow connection unsuitable for Skype or anything more than casual emails -- with reasonable-speed Internet available only at a cost of $9 per night,... I've stayed at this property twice now. In my experience, there isn't a better proposition when visiting a college campus. The staff is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The property is very well maintained. I'm looking forward to staying here again next time I visit UMN.

I have been coming here for 2 years every other month or so. I come here clearly for the staff! They always make my stay Amazing and I stay loyal to that. I spend a lot of time in the hotel bar/restaurant/lounge and all staff amazing! The valet/shuttle service is superb! Love Travis! He has been taking good care of... More

Wound up here before a show on campus...after staying here would likely not stay anywhere else in the area. Fantastic hotel, great location in the heart of campus. Staff is very accommodating, Beacon House is a great spot to have a drink or a bite to eat. Couldn't recommend more.

Wow! I'm not sure I've ever before stayed in a hotel room with so many things wrong. The nice, large flat screen TV didn't work. We could turn it on, but couldn't get any stations or sound. The neat, funky light fixture over the desk wouldn't turn on. My husband is an electronic controls engineer, and he tried in every... More

This is definitely our "go-to" hotel in the Minneapolis area. The design of the hotel and decor is so warm and welcoming. We were SO IMPRESSED with front desk staff- they went above and beyond for us and made our stay enjoyable! The room was extremely clean. We love the unique style of the hotel, and we also love how... This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of the University of Minnesota. The staff have been outstanding and tremendously patient with our questions. The rooms are nice with most of the typical amenities. Very clean and a new feel to it. The lobby is beautiful, especially with the logs burning. We knew they were using iHome clock/radios with a...
