We chose to stay at MacKenzie Suite for 3 nights because it was pet friendly.
The price is STEEP for pets at $20/per pet/PER NIGHT. But we willingly agreed to this fee and brought our two small dogs. Upon arrival and check-in, we were informed that the dogs were never to be left alone in the cabin.... are you kidding? What did I pay $40/night for?
So not only was I unable to explore Waskesui fully as indoor spaces and some outdoor are not pet friendly, I had to pay to extra only to have to bring my dogs everywhere.
If this is their policy, I respect it as not all pets are well-behaved, BUT it should be CLEARLY stated on the website as well as communicated in their pre-check in email sent 2 days before you arrive. We would have chosen alternate care for our pets if we had known this especially after paying $120.
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We would like to stay again but likely will not due to their lack of communication on a ridiculous pet policy.

Stayed early September at the Mackenzie Inn. Waskesiu was very quite. overall was a nice stay. staff very friendly and helpful. accommodations are cozy. suites are a bit dated and have seen better days but clean and well kept. bed was a bit lumpy. kitchenettes come with full assortment of utensils and kitchen items. all must be cleaned prior to leaving or will be charged. propane fire pit rentals available, nice to sit on the little deck with a fire pit at night. would recommend a stay.

Bad bad service. They charge you if your are not clean your dishes or not throw away your garbage!!! For sure I came not to throw away my garbage. If you leave a dirty dishes it’s $50. Dirty kitchen is $150!!! Garbage is$25!!! and you don’t know about it when you order the room. Just when you came and paid (I mean you can’t to cancel it already) they tell you the additional rules.
Heyyyy guys come on! I ordered the hotel room because I wanted to skip the washing dishes, and cleaning.!!! I pay you the money.
For $200 per night Beds was awful. I mean the mattress. If I was sleeping on a left or right side then I was rolling to the middle of the bed. We couldn’t sleep well. The have conditioner in the room but it is not cool the room. I would not recommend this hotel.
