Nice place, good stay here. The rooms were nice and were high end probably 10-15 years ago, a little tired but still in ok shape. Had a couple interactions with staff and it was pleasant as you would expect.

I’d like to give this place 5 stars because it’s a nice hotel, clean, very nice rooms, with very nice employees (at the desk and the bar), with a regular shuttle running to the Excel Energy Center, convenient parking, good location, etc. HOWEVER, it REEKS of marijuana. We were booked in a room on third floor but it reeked terribly of marijuana. And the whole level REEKED of marijuana and cigarettes (despite it supposedly being non-smoking). They were kind enough to switch us to 4th floor at the far end of the hall and that room didn’t stink. However, the hall on that floor and pretty much all of the halls on all of the floors, as well as in the elevators, stunk of marijuana. I can’t honestly say that I’d stay there again, despite everything else being great.

We had made a reservation at another Hilton in Woodbury only to find out our reservations were canceled without notice (not even an email). I guess that was a lucky break for us because we found this Doubletree which was also very near where we wanted to be.
We were nervous to travel for Thanksgiving this year, but staying at this Doubletree was a great choice. Hilton has done a fantastic job with regards to keeping their properties safe and clean during the pandemic.
When I called to confirm our reservation, the staff took the opportunity to tell us what to expect during our stay (i.e. the onsite restaurant and room service were not available). Once we arrived, they went over this again, but also told us what was available to us. We are diamond guests, so they offered a nice selection of breakfast items (I was surprised to see freshly made eggs and breakfast sandwiches). My son was hungry one of the nights and they were able to provide him with pizza and a drink.
The rooms here were very nice with microwaves, refrigerators, and coffee and tea available in the room. As diamond members, they try to upgrade your room, I was traveling with my adult son and I would not expect this all the time, but on this trip, they were able to upgrade us to two connecting king rooms - so basically we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. This was super nice. The staff at this hotel went well beyond expetations.
I had to work a bit on this trip. The internet connection was excellent, Lots of outlets, usb outlets and great lighting.
Covid or not, it will be easy to rebook this hotel each time we visit the Minneapolis/St. Paul/Woodbury area.

Just a place to stay…barely.

When we travel we try to stay at a Hilton. This has to be the most disappointing stay we’ve had.

Room: The room was just ok. Our kids slept on the pullout. The blanket in the closet was dirty. We called and asked for a replacement and towels. We were asked to come down and get them. We had traveled all morning and spent the day enjoying time with family. We asked it be brought up. This took an extended amount of time. When towels were finally brought to us it was not full sets so we needed to get additional towels ourselves.

Lobby: The trash in the lobby and front entrance was usually full. At one point trash was spilling over with food on the floor in front of the elevators.

Elevators: floors were dirty and wet multiple times. I assume from people swimming. However I’ve been at other hotels with pools and didn’t have the same experience.

Gym: the gym is old and lacked towels. It’s missing basic things like towels, a mat, the medicine balls were old one was broken, and some of the weights were missing.

The app: my husband messaged request on the app. No one respond. As a Hilton Honors member he has made request at other Hiltons and they were responsive and helpful. Not here. When we went to front desk for help he was told to call in the morning.

Cookies: I’m not sure why these cookies are published everywhere they were cold and hard.

We were in town to connect to family that lived nearby. Next time we will definitely stay somewhere else.

Breakfast wasn’t included with our stay we would have been charged $15 per day. Would have also been nice if the sofa bed was dusted regularly. My son ended up not opening the sofa bed because the amount of dust inside the actual pull out bed was over whelming. I kept wondering when the last time they cleaned the pullout bed was. Before you book, make sure your booking says breakfast included or you’ll be stuck paying for mediocre food at $15 per day. Noise in the hall was upsetting, people in adjacent room were noisy past midnight walls are somewhat thin.

My stay was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. I’m a loyal member and I stay here often. First of all they took away the spin wheel for members. Then to top it off the charge now for parking which is completely upsurd, considering the location. The elderly white hair lady never turned in my request for house keeping. I found a house keeper named Angel she was amazing. I was granted a late check out as I was sleep one of the house keepers walked in my room at 9am with no notice. I won’t say I will never stay here again, because it’s convenient to the things I enjoy doing, but this hotel definitely needs work also Shout out to Scott and the other African American women that worked in the morning I checked out. Also the pics that I showed is of my carpet in a suite.Ok that’s all

**Review of DoubleTree by Hilton St. Paul, MN**

Unfortunately, I had the worst hotel experience of my life at DoubleTree by Hilton St. Paul, MN. I simply cannot recommend this place to anyone. Here are my reasons:

1. ** Cleaning**: This hotel was far from clean. When I arrived, the room was clearly not cleaned properly. There was dust and dirt everywhere and the bathroom was nasty. The worst was that one had to ask for cleaning, and even then it was not done properly. They just turned the sheets and didn't do anything else. This was the tightest thing I've ever experienced at a hotel.

2. **Management and Service**: When you turn to the reception to ask for cleaning, you are met with a miserable attitude. Staff are incompetent and helpless. They gave me flabby answers and ignored my concerns. It is clear that the management also has no control over anything.

3. **General hygiene**: The hotel is generally quiet. The common areas were rarely, if ever, cleaned up. The whole place smelled bad and I felt uncomfortable during the whole stay.

I am deeply disappointed in my experience at DoubleTree by Hilton St. Paul, MN and will never ever come back. If you appreciate cleanliness and good service, find another place to stay.

Check in process harder than it should have been due to untrained staff.
Restaurant is not open often.
Breakfast is $15 but it is no different than what most hotels provide complementary. Actually, its worse because you cannot just pour your own coffee. You have to wait for staff to do it. It's just the usual powdered eggs and soggy waffles.
There are few restaurants in the immediate area that are open after 7pm. We just got TV dinners from nearby Cubs grocery store.
No coffee after about 10am.
This hotel is basically only here for people traveling to 3M
Room was clean.

Arrived at hotel at 3:30am after driving all night to get here for son’s hockey tournament the next morning. Booked via HotelTonight.com, which somehow used my 12 year old’s name instead of mine. We have the same last name. Desk agent refused to give me the room which was prepaid because his “policy only allowed him to give the room to the person whose name was on the reservation.”

That inflexibility changes

That inflexibility changes me from a loyal Doubletree customer to one who will never transact business with them again. It was a minor error that could have been easily fixed…they just decided that they didn’t want to.

I am giving this hotel two stars because they have decided to nickel and dime people by charging for parking. The parking lot is huge, and there is absolutely no reason to charge. Not only that, the only way to pay for parking is an app…and they charged an exorbitant convenience fee. The gall.

We ate dinner at the restaurant because of the convenience, but I would suggest you go elsewhere if you have the time.

The room was a nice size, the bed was decent and the shower was okay, Towels were big, but felt a bit like sandpaper. Shoutout to Scott who checked us in for friendliness and efficiency.

We are located 5 miles from downtown St. Paul and the Hospital. Approximately a 10 minute drive.

The area does have Uber and taxi services from the Xcel Center. We also offer shuttle services within a 10 mile radius of the hotel. The shuttle is complimentary but based on space availability. Regardless there are a number of options to get you back and forth from the hotel to the Xcel Center.

There are two bathrooms. Its a two room suite that includes a pullout couch in the main area. Please contact the hotel directly for more specific information so we can best assist your planning needs.
