Free parking is available immediately outside, but if the parking lot is full, as it was during our stay, we had to drive a full block south and park in the overflow lot and walk back. (We were given a parking tag, but I felt a little uneasy leaving my vehicle here as there is no security. (Thankfully, our car wasn't broken into during the night.))
A coffee/espresso/hot chocolate machine is available in the lobby area 24-7. (My children loved getting drinks whenever they wanted.)
I'm not sure when quiet hour is, but a large group in the lobby area woke us up by their talking after 1 a.m. The front desk staff didn't do anything to move these people to their rooms. (If I were to stay at this location again, I would request a room away from the lobby.)
The room was spacious enough, and very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The sink is located in the bathroom, and not outside of it. The shower stall had a walk-in feature and no shower curtain and/or sliding door, just a piece of clear glass. (Since the sink is in the bathroom, my one child hung her towel over the glass for privacy while my other child used the sink/mirror.)
Breakfast is served from 6-9:30 a.m. on weekends and is available in the "Train depot" in the lobby. We arrived by 9:00 a.m. and all of the hot food items (eggs and sausage ) and milk were gone. The attendant finally replenished these items, around 9:30, after we filled up on waffles and pancakes. (Dry cereal, a parfait machine, and fruit is available.)
The indoor pool is just around the corner from the lobby in an open format--meaning that there are no doors, just a fence and gates on both sides. The pool is about 5' deep and has plenty of space to swim around. There is also a hot tub that was hot enough, a kiddie pool, and a sauna. (I enjoyed sweating it out in here. There is plenty of space in the sauna, too.) I liked the shower that is available in the pool area and the bathroom around the corner. A workout room is also available with numerous pieces, but we didn't use it. (We also didn't use the business center)
Bottom line: we would stay here again.

During this Roguetrip, we stayed at several Best Western Plus hotels, which is a chain we haven't stayed at much before. It wasn't intentional to stay at so many BWP hotels, its just how it worked out - and we have loved it - it is definitely a chain we are so impressed with, that we will definitely FOCUS to try and stay at BWP hotels more often in the future.
THIS hotel was hands down the most unique and interesting hotel we have stayed at.
This Best Western Plus is located inside an old train repair shop.
Rooms ring around the pool with courtyard/pool-facing rooms and an outer ring of rooms. Our room faced the pool.
The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious. The beds were soft but supportive, pillows were plentiful, but I found them too thin. My husband did not find this problem.
Breakfast was great, with all kinds of options.
Eggs/omelettes, turkey sausage etc., yogurt, granola, oatmeal; seating is in the centre courtyard, which was lovely.
Parking...
There isn't enough parking for a whole house; we had to park in their overflow lot, which is a bit of a walk with suitcases.
The building is gorgeous. The old train facility gives this chain hotel a very boutique hotel vibe.
The front desk staff were amiable and helpful.
There is a small fitness centre with a few pieces of equipment. It would be very 'cozy' if two people were to use it at the same time.
While the hotel isnt within walking distance to any attractions, we did find it was a convenient location for our roguetrip purposes.
Lovely room and quiet stay until 5 AM. Room 207 adjoins a staff cleaning/supply room.
Through the adjoining door to our room, we were awakened by several staff members laughing and catching up with their lives. When my husband asked them to be quiet they shouted back at him. We called the front desk and it was quiet until 8 AM when it began again. We decided to check out and when we returned our keys to the front desk and asked them about the incident, we were told that the disturbance we had heard came from another guest on the complete opposite side of the room and that there was no staff/cleaning room adjoining ours.
We have been long time members and are extremely disappointed in having spent 30,000 points for this stay.
In particular, we are disappointed at being told that what we experienced did not happen.
At the least, in the future we would hope that will staff be notified when there are guests in room 207 and behave quietly respectfully.
