Me and my wife when here for my 50th Birthday and I would have to say it is haunted... I want to come back and stay again... We had a few strange things happen... like the door slamming in my wifes face to footsteps and heavy objects moving above us come to find out the room above us was empty...

My two daughters, grandson and I stayed at the Palmer House Hotel on a recent Saturday night. The building has a very large lobby/reception room on the main level packed with antique furniture. The 2nd and 3rd floors are comprised of a number of guest rooms of varying sizes. This outing was a belated birthday celebration for me and I...

Just spent the weekend at The Palmer House. Had a really nice time. Spent time in the pub where they had great food and spirits and a nice breakfast in the cafe. Stayed in room 16 nothing paranormal happened on our visit but still a fun adventure. Loved the history of the place and the ghost tour. My only thing...

It's just this simple. For a long time, the U. S. of A. had only one Nobel Prize winner for literature, and he grew up right here in this little sweet burg. So what if he disliked it. So what if he made a career out of cutting up the people he grew up with. Who cares? He's Sinclair Lewis,...

Is the Palmer House Hotel as haunted as they say? This reviewer thinks so! The Palmer is an awesome 3 floor hotel built in 1901. I did not stay in the hotel as a guest with a room, but I did have a chance to see almost every room in the hotel in person as part of a paranormal ghost...

We went for my birthday. We had a great time. I thought the hotel was quaint. Our room was very clean and spacious. I loved the staff. Very warm and friendly. I would go back just to hang out with the staff. I may have seen a ghost or two. I'm not sure. But it was not a scary experience....

August 2015 we went - hopeful for a good time and some ghosts. The hotels pics are WAY better than the hotel, although I understand it is old. The food I got was ok, but the pub area was not inviting and one of our seats was ripped. The rooms were the really bad part. We got two "suites", for...

Stopped at the Palmer House from an out west vacation with my son and his family. Just my son and I arranged to stay here as the two youngsters did not want any part of a haunted place. I chose not to take the basement tour as I did not want anything to cloud my head and clear thinking. We...

Went with large group, owner back peddled on rates, room not clean, poor and rude service except for 2 staff members. Our group spent a lot of money and had great para experiences....however, the owner emailed me the following week with an unfounded bill for my hot tub leaking. Owner also claimed she doesn't advertise the motel as haunted....use caution...

I've been here a couple of times now, and every time I go, the food is excellent and the service is superb. The history of the place is fascinating, and provides such an unusual and exciting atmosphere. I wish we were in town long enough to go on one of the ghost tours! Those look like fun. :)
