This is a magical place with fine dining, outstanding comfort and generous hosts. We have stayed there twice over the last few years and recommend it highly to family and friends. Sue and Micaela offer home style comfort with a touch of class. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they have a wealth of local information. Sue and...

A great pleasure to return for yet another stay at LGM. With a lovely couple looking after us in their usual quiet, efficient and caring way. Our two day Wine Adventure was as good as ever. A chance to explore more of the different wines of the Loire and the characters who make them. Each day was a pleasant day...

If you're looking for quaint, a taste of the country, and to feel completely at home then stay at this B&B.  This 17th century chateau and outbuildings have been renovated slightly to accomodate guests and to entertain - they're absolutely wonderful and exactly what we were needing after a week of the Paris life style.   What we liked: -...

My Mom and I stayed in many wonderful B&B's during our time in France, but this stone farmhouse was in a class of its own. I can't stop talking about it, and my only regret is that we stayed for only 2 nights. Everything about this place is dreamy - surrounded by vineyards, delightfully decorated with a rustic/chic vibe (so...

We had such a nice welcome at La Grande Maison d'Arthenay from Micaela and Sue, relaxing in the late evening sunshine with a glass of wine. This is now our favourite stopover place in the western Loire and we were disappointed not to be able to stay longer. Breakfast was delicious.

this place is exactly as you would wish a place amongst the vines to be; beautiful, charming, delightful. The food for the Wine Supper was top class, the rooms spacious, comfortable and lovely. Michaela and Sue are excellent hosts, and the dogs an added treat. The garden and the vines are wonderful and the wine, and lots of it, is...

I booked a three night break at La Grande Mason for my wife’s birthday, we had booked for September as we wanted to be out of the school holidays, but still (hopefully) enjoy the nice weather. The experience of booking, to the arrival, to the warm and friendly hospitality from Sue and Micaela, the excellent food, great wines and a...

We stayed for two nights in August and wouldn't be able to think of anything to fault. La Grande Maison was absolutely perfect for relaxation, delicious breakfasts and such a warm welcome. In short, without question, book a break here!

We stayed 2 nights with a wine tour. Michaela and Sue were the best of hosts. Dinner the first night was as good as any we had in or out of Paris. The House was in the country, old, and charming. Could not decide to take a walk or enjoy the grounds. Michaela's tour or 3 wineries was very informative...
