I stayed here for a weekend with my daughter and granddaughter for the REBA Concert. Our stay was wonderful, staff were awesome, the whole place was immaculate, and everything is close by . We loved it and will be back. Will also tell everyone about this great place.
The room was impeccably clean and spacious with beautifully folded towels. The attention to detail made our stay very pleasant and the receptionist was also kind. She let us look at two rooms before we decided to stay here. We had a "partial ocean view", which was fine as we spent most of the daytime outdoors anyway. Although it is located on a major thoroughfare, the rooms are well insulated. The bed was super comfy, the water pressure very good. And the toiletries were high-quality. We loved the large kitchen area. An overall relaxing and delightful experience!
This was my first time to stay at this property, but will not be my last. On a previous visit to Biloxi, I passed this place and was intrigued. Went in and asked if they happened to have an outside bar facing the water. They did and the view was spectacular. But what really made it great was the bartender Jen (J.J.). She was fantastic: friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable. She sold me on the place. When my travels once again took me to Biloxi, I decided to give South Beach a try. The property is really a failed condo project from years back that has been turned into a hotel. As such, the rooms are significantly larger and each includes a kitchen of sorts. My room was good; not fancy or extravagant, but good. The furnishings are a bit dated, but not bad at all. And JJ and the bar were as good as I remembered. As a matter of fact, everyone I encountered at South Beach was great and went out of their way to help me or just say 'hi.; I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and will return.…
On 7-27-2012 my wife and I attempted to check in for a 5 night stay which we'd had reserved for 2 months. 3 days before, we'd been promised a certain room that we had stayed in several times before and which we strongly prefer. Upon checki-in the desk clerk informed us that room wasn't available and when we protested in the strength of what we'd been promised, the manager was called in and arrived with a surly attitude. At no time were we offered a different room, but were rather told that the hotel was sold out. When the altercation with the manager became heated, he unilaterally cancelled our reservation right in front of us and ordered us out of "his" hotel, threatening to call the police, of all things. I'm a 74-year old male undergoing chemotherapy, and my wife began crying. We left the hotel with no other place to go--having driven 7 hours from Houston to get there. A followup phone call with the hotel's general manager the following day failed to produce any satisfaction--basically a defense of her employee's behavior.…
The motel was in a good location in that you could walk to several restaurants. It also had a good pool. Was disappointed in that the bathroom doors would not stay shut. They went back into the wall, would stay there, and were very difficult to pull out again. Was also disappointed that it wasn't equipped very well for cooking. There was no skillet, spatula, or nothing to bake anything in the oven with. It only had a few eating utensils. It was pretty clean and most of the staff was friendly. This doesn't reflect on the hotel, but there was garbage from one end of the boardwalk to the other. Not very pleasant for taking a walk. Overall, too expensive for no more than you get.
As log as you don't arrive expecting luxury you will be fine. We rented a 2 bed/2 bath direct ocean view room and suited us just fine. The views are fantastic and there are a few restaurants within walking distance. The room is clean and spacious for a family of 4 or 5 but just has no wow factor. The towels are the worst I've seen in a hotel both for size and quality in 20 years. They were so small they looked like baby towels rather than adult towels, and incredibly thin. The mattresses also were very lumpy and springy in both bedrooms and need replacing. Room could also used updated pots, pans and silverware. Customer service was ok. No one went out of their way to make you feel welcomed (accept JJ the bartender) during your stay but all requests were fulfilled. JJ was phenomenal and really knows how to treat guests and make you feel like a long time friend. Loved her! If I was in the area again and got a good deal I would stay here again just for its location …
We totally appreciated the hospitality of the employees at the hotel. Everyone did everything possible to make our stay so pleasant. Great views!!!. Did I say great views?! Clean and bright rooms. Our room was one of the corner units. It was exceptionally large with split bedroom floor plan. Full Kitchen. Very large balcony. Only thing, I wish there was a Keurig type coffee pot. But, most hotels do not have that. Wonderful boardwalk along beach property to local restaurants. Would stay over and over. Elevators were perfect everytime and clean!
The location is perfect! A few restaurants are within walking distance! The views are amazing!! We stayed in 1905 (top floor) and had partial ocean view, so we were able to view the street as well as ocean! Friendly staff when approached but they DO NOT answer the phones! We stayed 6 days Spring Break week and tried to call a few days for different reasons, not one time did they answer. Each time I immediately walked down only to find the lobby empty and desk clerk sitting there in her phone!!! The bathtubs are really ‘high’ with no grab handles, which makes it not only difficult but dangerous when entering/exiting the bathtub. Also...if you like taking showers, beware the water pressure makes it almost impossible to shower.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom deluxe suite. Pros Room was very large, plenty of room to relax. Staff was very accommodating, helpful & kind. The kitchen had all of the needed cookware and dishes ( I forgot napkins/paper towels, they are not stocked in room) The balcony was a great place to watch the sunrise. Direct beach access from the lower level. The bath tub was long enough for a 6 ft person to relax. The bed was comfortable Cons The pillows were flat, need to be replaced. Parking garage had very few parking spots versus the number of rooms. There is overflow parking on the side of the building that I didn't see until the 2nd day. Breakfast is grab & go due to covid. Cereal, oats, yogurt & juice. Would have liked to have seen fruit or bagels. This was a perfect place for me with everything I needed for my getaway.…
It's a shame how this hotel has changed in a year. My first visit was perfect, great view, great service and clean rooms. This time after arriving and being notified that the room I had booked was not available. I was giving a suite that had a clump of hair stuck to the shower wall. Probably due to the cleaning crew sleeping in the laundry room all night. I was moved up one floor. As I stepped off the elevator there was confetti leading to the room next to ours. I tried to deal with the noise, and the smell of weed coming under my door. But I had a toddler with me. At about 2:00 A.M. I finally called the front desk and asked to be moved. Of Course no rooms available. They said they would send someone up, they never did. So I turned my Tv towards there wall and found the music channel on the TV turned it all the way up. Called the front desk for a 6:00 A.M. wake up call for my joyful neighbors. And went to find another room for the night.…
