Shadowlawn is a unique and beautiful B&B, with a wonderful and beautiful host!!! From the very first contact I had with Burnette it felt like I had known her my entire life. She is very accommodating and goes the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. If you love beautiful antiques this is the B&B for you, the...

My husband and I stayed here from 9/09-9/13/15, for the Tennessee Williams Tribute in Columbus, MS. We had great breakfasts--apricot soup, Monte Cristo sandwiches, ham/Swiss casserole, spinach/cheese casserole (to die for), delicious apple crisp--you can't beat Burnette's cooking and the attention she gives to each guest. I highly recommend Shadowlawn. The location is also perfect--close to everything you'd like to...

We enjoyed staying here. We loved the furnishings and architecture, the host was incredibly gracious, the location was in the historic section of downtown. Just watch the timing so you don't compete with football at MS State.

We stayed with Burnette on the last night of a very long road trip, and she made us feel like we were already home. It was like staying with an old friend! The house is beautiful and filled with interesting and unique antiques. Our room was clean and comfortable-the linens were soft, there was a stocked fridge with water and...

Short notice trip to Columbus with a very demanding itinerary. Burnette could not have been more gracious and accommodating: - early check-in allowed us to be on time for important event; - pet friendly welcome by entire staff, and Caesar (cocker spaniel); - early send-off with breakfast to go. Definitely our go-to place to stay on next Columbus visit. Lovely...

I've stayed here twice this year and I plan to visit again next week. Burnette Avakian is a lovely, charming woman and a great cook. Her Monte Cristo sandwich is out of this world. Breakfast at Shadowlawn is a real treat. The mansion is gorgeous and the rooms are spacious and historically accurate, and most elegant. I can recommend this...

Our family enjoyed a lovely weekend at Shadowlawn B&B while attending my nephew's college graduation. Even though this was a few miles from Starkville, we were thrilled that we chose to stay here, at this quiet and beautiful B&B. Burnette went out of her way to meet our every need. She even accommodated us for a lovely luncheon after graduation...

Over the years, we've stayed in a lot of bed-and-breakfast places, but none that have been more elegant or have served more scrumptious breakfasts than Shadowlawn. We would recommend Shadowlawn without reservation to anyone who would enjoy staying in one of the fine restored mansions on Columbus' annual Spring Pilgrimage.

Arrived Thursday for Homecoming at the W. Burnette kindly welcomed us in, had aired out the room and changed the bedding for me (allergic to down), and prepared two delicious breakfasts for us. I had a fantastic spinach frittata day 1 and day 2 my husband and I both had pecan praline souffles (a must try). Day 1 my husband...
