Just returned from a three night stay at the very historic Iron Horse Hotel in Blackwater, MO. Everything about this hotel is wonderful. They have a wonderful restaurant which serves the best appetizers, entrees and desserts. Our breakfast included a large fluffy bisquit, home-made yogurt with fruit, perfectly cooked eggs, sausages, and hash browns. Each room in the hotel is...

I was frankly worried as this hotel sits right at a railroad crossing - think train horn and clackity-clack - and our room was on the side right next to the train tracks, We were provided earplugs and they worked great - only briefly woke as the first train rumbled past, but quickly went back to sleep and must have...

After reading all the great reviews I decided to stay for a night. I hope those of you that gave this such a high rating don't get upset, but from my point of view those ratings are somewhat over rated with the price too high for what they offered. Yes, the place is a step back in time, but so...

We just enjoyed our 10th visit to this charming and peaceful hotel. It is truly a step back in time with its beautifully ornate original woodwork and lovely themed rooms. We spent Saturday afternoon on the back veranda chatting with good friends. Dinner in the restaurant is a gourmet's dream. And new owner, proprietor, and chef Tracy Russell is the...

This hotel is a great find. The rooms are lovely, the gardens are inviting. The history is fun and the proprietor is a genuinely kind soul, who loves the town and its history. Thank you Tracy for a wonderful weekend and for sharing your hotel and restaurant with us. The food is wonderful and we loved the quaint reminders of...

Enjoyed the hotel and the food! A great place, sweet owners, delicious food. A sweet hidden gem in small town Missouri. Felt like home! Each room had a theme and unique in their own ways. I loved that they had a space large enough to accommodate 6 people. My family and friends will for sure return for more fun times....

What a lovely family! We felt as if we made new friends while staying at the Iron Horse. Owners Tim and Debbie ate breakfast with us, as did their daughter. The food.....the food.....words almost fail me. So incredibly delicious! The stroll we took around this small town on Sunday morning, prior to breakfast......peaceful and so neat. We are going back...

My family recently dined at the Iron Horse and our experience was wonderful. We all agreed that this was, hands down, the best place we have eaten at for years. The hospitality was exceptional and the service was excellent. The food was outstanding and everything was prepared to perfection. The homemade bread, cheesecake, and pies are succulent and virtually unbeatable....
