Pay careful attention to what you book here as the standards of the accommodation available seem very disparate. My party of three seemingly booked and stayed in the "self catering chalets" although the confirmation we received had indicated food would be available. We were quickly advised that was not the case with the question - "how could you expect us...

Management response:

It is sad that you did not read your confirmation properly and did not read our published policies and practices. Our policy is and has always been clear - if you book SELF-CATERING it means SELF CATERING. What part of SELF CATERING do you not understand? If you wanted to dine in the 4-star lodge when you are not paying...

This is a great place to stay a few days. The people of this lodge are very friendly and helpfull. The road towards is a bit long, but so impressive ... the quieteness is amazing. You can see all the stars of the world.

Lodge might be 4 star, however te chalets are unrated and not mentioned on website. We ended up paying 4 star tariffs for an unrated facility. Entertainment advertised WIfi on enquiry they discontinued it because guest watched videos on their wifi. False advertising. Stay away from chalets badly equipped, no proper linen nor cutlery, nothing matches its all scraps stuffed...

These guests arrived irate and hostile before they even saw the cottage. During check-in they demanded that we clean the SELF-CATERING cottage the following day even though theirs was only a two-day stay, and when the manager offered to do so for a fee as per our published policy for the lower-priced SELF-CATERING cottage, they berated her and stomped out....

Whilst delicately arranging the perfect seaside proposal to my now fiancé, I scoured the area for an equally fitting location to have a romantic dinner to celebrate. After being turned down by the fernery lodge as our dinner would interrupt their guests - Tsitsikamma on Sea was recommended to me by a resident of the region. I called Stephan (the...

From arrival to leaving, we were treated with such warmth. Stunning views of the ocean. There was this indescribable sense of piece one felt eliminated not only from the place but from the hosts as well. Lovely hearty home made meals, and then a cosy suit and bed to rest in after a long journey. Thank you Stephen from myself...

Tsitsikamma On Sea looks like a large house that was converted into a B&B. It is set atop the cliffs, although of course not right at the edge! A short stroll across the lawn to their viewing deck takes you above the sea and the crashing sea below -- it is spectacular! The views from the bedrooms on the second...

What an astute observation, that a guest house was once a house. What is amusing is that we never even charged this lady for her stay, her dinner or her breakfast, even though she arrived as an unexpected extra, yet she faults our prices! Her elderly mother graciously offered suggestions for improving our facility to cater to octogenarians in person,...

The most amassing views, great hospitality and worth the travel on the dirt road which forms part of the experience. The well maintained lookout points and the beautiful scenery all makes this a unforgettable experience.

With excellent food and breathtaking views, this is a great place to stay. The hosts were attentive and warm, making our stay very pleasant. We were greeted by numerous dogs, which at first made us nervous but they proved to be very friendly.

We loved this b&b, the location is wonderful (amazing view), the rooms are luxurious, the food very good and the owners very friendly. Initially we rented a self catering cottage but the owner upgraded us to the rooms inside because we were the only guests. We would recommend this place to everybody.
