We stayed in the caboose, and it was worth every penny! My kids loved the feel of being in a real caboose. The beds were comfortable and the spacious bathroom was a pleasant surprise! The lamps with the cute blinking RR lights added to the atmosphere. The grill on the back patio was super. Perfect location for families with kids...

First impressions of large patio sites are great until you realize they are full afternoon sun, no shade, your awnings will not reach to give you any help and we have 2 awnings! no sun umbrellas on table! So unless you want to roast in the sun, you are paying for something you can't use!!! And yes, you can hear...

Absolutely amazing, one of my favorite KOA cabins I've stayed in. Even had some surprise roomates that were awesome. I loved hearing the trains go by at night while I was sleeping in a caboose. Bathroom was clean and shower was hot and amazing. Back deck and grill was also a surprise and I made some great meals out there....

We stayed 4 nights at the KOA St Louis West with our family of 4. We cannot rate some of the amenities as we stayed during the "off season" and in no way affects my rating. Overall though we had a great stay. The kids enjoyed the playground. We really liked that we didn't have to get our grill or...

The camping is quite next to the I 44 Business Loop or the Histouric Route 66. The camping is situated in a kind of forest and is spacious. the first impression is often the most important. We were received by some very friendly senior people. And one led us with his golfcar to the place we would stay the night....

So grateful for a wooden, non-leaking tent with electricity. We had lots of rain and we're so grateful to sleep dry and warm. Cabins are very small, but you can't beat the price. Was great having laundry facilities (drying was necessary). Staff was friendly. Nice gift shop too!

Had a very enjoyable stay at a two room cabin. They provided us a couple of heaters for our stay and we definitely needed them the first night. Excellent basketball court and campground area. Restrooms/Showers were very clean and definitely well above average. Nice atmosphere to enjoy other campers and camp fire. Trains throughout the night made it fairly difficult...

We had a site here for about a month in the cold season. We really liked that we could check in after hours(on Thanksgiving) and appreciated all the friendly people (staff and guests). We felt safe and our neighbors were even looking out for us (we had a water freeze problem and received lots of help from people). As with...

This was a clean and convenient campground. It was close to the interstate. Staff was polite and friendly. They even have complimentary fresh baked chocolate chip cookies! We would stay there again!!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This is picturesque camping as it was meant to be - with lots of trees, a babbling creek, fireflies and a campfire (with s'mores!) Under a starlit sky. Located on Historic Route 66, this beautiful KOA is less than 1 mile from Six Flags St. Louis. It's less than 30 minutes from other St. Louis attractions, including the Gateway Arch, Forest Park, Missouri Botanical Garden, Museum of Transportation, Anheuser-Busch Brewery, Grant's Farm and riverboat rides on the Mississippi. Meramec Caverns, Purina Farms and wine country are also nearby. New this year: Geming mining station, fun cycle bikes, Full-time Director of Fun, activities/amenities. Groups enjoy the renovated pavilion and new air-conditioned meeting space. Railroad buffs can stay in the newly renovated red caboose. ... more   less
