Did a lot of research on this property and was a bit skeptical given the limited number of reviews, but I ended up booking a reservation on the hotel website. I received a confirmation number on screen, but when I later entered the number to view my reservation it said there was no reservation under that number. I reached out to the email address on their website and have yet to hear from them after 2.5 days. Not sure if they’re still operating.

I loved the views, you can see the sea from almost everywhere. The service was great and the bed really comfy. I liked very much the concept of using containers to build the hotel. Near the sea and the main streets. (-:

My wife and I visited Tribe de Mexico for a wedding in Sayulita in November of 2023. We stayed in the “Estrella” room and were impressed all-around. The rooms are converted shipping containers complete with AC (ours was brand new and worked fantastic), a toilet, a sink, a shower, and a bed. One entire wall of the room is made up of floor to ceiling windows with ocean views and a sliding glass door. Each room comes with a balcony. The views are amazing!
This is absolutely a purpose-built boutique hotel and not a mega-resort. American-friendly, but by no means an American resort in Mexico.
The rooms are perched high up on a hillside with lots of stairs and climbing needed to get up to your room. They have people who will help you get your bags to your room but we warned- you will be climbing lots of stairs to get to your room (no elevator here). The room has no TV or phone but the WiFi worked great and was free.
The location of the hotel is at the south end of Sayulita at one of the best spots possible. Just far enough from the noise and bustle of downtown but within a quarter mile walk of the downtown area. 2-3 minute walk from the main beach or the side beach too (just around the point).
The hotel has surf boards and paddle boards for free to use if you’re staying there and a good restaurant and bar with good pricing right on the water.
The pool wasn’t huge but was plenty big and there’s a nice palapa for yoga or just hanging out right next to the pool.
There’s a weight room/workout room with a few machines and a handful of dumbbells but not much more than that.
The staff were friendly and professional and helped give us pointers for things to do around town.
We did fine without renting a golf cart (the town is extremely walkable) but we saw lots of people with golf carts around town too.
10/10 would definitely recommend.
