HDLC is a wonderful retreat from the noise and grit of Sayulita, yet close enough to enjoy the shopping, restaurants in town. Beautifully located above the ocean in the tropical rainforest. Wonderful hosts .

This was our third stay at HLDC and, like the others, it was memorable, fun, and surprising. We want to acknowledge Terri and Steve for their hospitality, humour, and advice, and our fellow guests for their stories at breakfast, local reviews, and helpfulness. We stayed in La Vista and. Watched for whales, read books and drank morning coffee (made in... More

We just spent two great weeks at Hacienda de la Costa and thoroughly enjoyed the place and especially Steve and Terry. Believe me, all the many positive reviews are well deserved! The other hosts/hostesses include a bevy of rescue dogs and cats all of which made the visit even better. Anyone who cares for animals the way they do is... More

The spacious, private room and private verandah with water view we had were exceptional for their décor, cleanliness, construction value and overall appeal. Although this B and B is located in a mangrove a few miles outside Sayulita, the Wi-fi worked well. The birding from the property itself and from surrounding mangrove habitat was very good. We saw the spectacular... More

The Hacienda de la Costa was the perfect place for our trip! Being remote and private in the beautiful jungle of Mexico with the added bonus of multiple secluded beaches (we had to ourselves all day!) and the cute town of Sayulita this is beyond the place to be. Terri and Steve are the most gracious, warm and inviting hosts... More

Hacienda de la Costa far exceeded our expectations. The room, the location, the ambiance, the hosts, simply everything. We stayed in the garden room which was lovely and private. The only thing it lacked was an ocean view, but that was only steps away at the pool. The kitchen was easy to cook in with everything that we needed to... More

What can I say about HDLC? It's simply amazing. The location is about 2 miles from downtown Sayulita and a world away. Teri and Steve are fantastic hosts and made us feel at home for the week we were there. Steve makes the best margaritas we ever had and Teri cooks a delicious breakfast every day. The rooms are very... More

Just returned from a week stay with Steve and Terri and it was perfect. We loved our room(Los Arboles). It had a full kitchen and large sitting area as well as a little sitting area out our front door. I love the fact there are only 5 rooms(10 people maximum)which kept it quaint and pretty quiet. Steve(eh)had great stories and... More

We have been coming here for 3 years now. We appreciate the quiet surroundings, the wonderful hosts, the lovely rooms, and the really nice people that we always seem to meet. We look forward every year to sharing a week at La Hacienda de la Costa with our son and his new wife, who are willing participants.
