Detailed Reviews
We moved here after our other reservations fell through at another resort. Camden resort is beautiful, clean, and modern. Gorgeous views of the lakefront. We ate at the restaurant on site - Horney Toad. The food was good! They do charge a 2.5% fee if you use your credit/debit card and are not paying cash. We got coffee from them in the morning, 3$ a cup which is slightly overpriced for hotel coffee. Our room was equipped with a fireplace, full kitchenette and big screen tv in both the bedroom and living room. We were more than happy with the modern, clean accommodations. We also thought the crown molding in the rooms added a nice elegant touch. Camden on the lake is a bit removed from the main ozark area so it will add an additional commute of about 10 minutes to shopping/restaurants. The only negative was that the beds were too soft for our needs. This is personal preference to each. The staff at the front desk were more than willing to help come up with a solution and we were very appreciative of their efforts. Thank you. (Jackie & Lisa - may have gotten the names wrong).

It was a boat race weekend and we got a king suite on the water which was huge and expensive, perfect view of the races and harbor...but
Music blasting from bar area till 1 in the morning, crowded with kids having fun god bless them. I have to say the music was good and my husband is deaf so it didn’t bother him. The room was not that clean and had been well used let’s say. Bed was comfortable, parking was easy, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES eat at Hi Toad or whatever the name of their restaurant is...we had a late dinner of guacamole (which was that frozen kind with pace salsa) really terrible, Chile which was so hot you could not eat it. I made the mistake of ordering a manhattan which was all cherry juice really Yukki. Little server girl was friendly and clueless. The “Starbucks” in the lobby had dishwater for coffee...definitely not Starbucks quality. It opened at 6a.m. And the sounds of chairs being moved woke me up as the suite is right next to the lobby. All in all not a good experience unless you’re 25 and drinking heavily.

Response from Jeremy Odell, Revenue Management at Camden on the Lake Resort
Responded Oct 17, 2020
Hello joette c, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Sorry to hear that you had some issues during your stay with us. For that I apologize. Race weekends are filled with live entertainment and later evenings. Sorry you had a not so favorable experience at our restaurant. That's definitely the exception not the norm. We do thank you for choosing Camden on the Lake. We hope you will come back again and visit us. Kind Regards

I truly enjoyed my brief stay at this property. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was gorgeous with a thoughtful consideration of the decor to pay homage to the Ozarks, The palate in the furnishing was a collection of white, grays, and navies. The bed was scrumptious and comfortable. The shower is simply magnificent with slab tile to the heavens. The balcony overlooked the parking lot but we still had a fabulous view of the lake. The amenities of the hot tub and swim up bar on the lake was incredible. We got to soak up the lake vibes with a strawberry mojito in hand. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return.

I booked a large room for 8 other people. We arrived early and were unable to get our room right away, which wasn't a big deal. Once we were finally able to get into the room it was right away we started having issues. Maintenance did not have to come not once or twice but THREE times to our room. Our first issue was after trying to place a few items into the refrigerator, all of the shelving gave out, spilling food/drinks on the floor and into the fridge. I cleaned this up and called to get this fixed. They were able to come quickly and resolved the issue. Our second phone call went out around 10:00pm for our curtains not working and again they resolved this issue. After looking more closely at the room I noticed the toilet paper holders about falling off of the walls, the bathrooms looked dirty, the flooring that they claim is new is dirty, the walls had some sort of spilled substance in spots, the pull out bed had a large chip in the corner. All of these things ended up being addressed due to how much we paid for the room and what we actually received. At 10:30 we were all trying to go to bed. After pulling the bed out from the couch we saw a large amount of debris on the bed, as if it had never been cleaned. I went to find the bedding and as I pulled the bedding out bugs started flying out. After this we went to customer services and they sent us a maintenance worker and a housekeeper. The maintenance worker was great and helpful. He was trying to be accommodating consider the circumstance and cleaned the pull out bed for us. We ended up helping with making all the beds since we wanted to go to sleep. We didn't end up going to sleep until 12:30am because of the housekeeper that kept leaving our room to find bedding. None of the bedding was clearly changed from whoever stayed before us by all the stains and mess on the beds. Once our bedding was changed we didn't let housekeeping back to our room other than to receive towels since we knew we had clean bedding. When we first arrived to this hotel we were also all followed by one of the workers from the resort. He followed us everywhere for a half hour on multiple floors, bathrooms and elevators. When we brought this to attention to the hotel staff in the main lobby they only said they didn't know much about this person since they only started 2-3 weeks prior to our stay. As we were a bunch of women this left us slightly uneasy. Thankfully we did not see him the rest of the trip. We also had to deal with music being played until 3am next to our hotel room and it was also very loud with a band outside until midnight or 1am. This made it difficult to sleep. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The amount we paid for our stay was terrible for what we truly received. I will never stay here again.

After my second stay I decided to write this review. Thing do not seem to be running well here. So much is broke or plain missing like the surround sound they promise in the description. The hot tub smells like pee and looks green. Bring your towel or you’ll be stuck without one after they tell you not to bring them from the room. Cobwebs hanging on the ceiling. Burnt out lightbulbs and fireplaces that don’t work. Getting any customer service is like pulling teeth. Manager Kim is far from friendly and the hotel manger isn’t any better. Do NOT think they will go out of their way for your stay- instead you’ll be treated like an inconvenience. It’s really unfortunate too because the rooms are nice and they “seem” clean. A discount was never offered for any of the disappointing things on my two stays. The hotel manager never called back. I say spend more money and stay where your business is appreciated.

Main restaurant/bar closed for renovation, yet no mention on website. Lower level bar/restaurant was tacky and served martini into a plastic cup. Electric fireplace was laughable. Mold on bathroom baseboard. Place was understandably deserted. Look elsewhere for hotel.

In 2022 my wife and I booked a corner suite at Camden on the Lake and really liked it. We couldn't wait to go back. I made a reservation almost a year in advance for another corner suite, assuming, stupidly, that I would get a suite just like the first one. When I checked in, I made sure that they were giving me the type of room that I had booked and paid a deposit for. They bill your credit card a week before your arrival for a deposit, in case you are thinking of changing your mind. The room that they gave me was a substandard room overlooking the parking lot. I went back down to the desk and asked them to check my reservation. They explained that the room I was in qualified as a "corner suite" since it had more than one room and was on the corner of the hotel. There are only a few corner suites available, I was told, and they are all the same except for the one they gave me. Same price. I asked if I could have one of the other suites and was told "no". Next time, they explained, I should call ahead and request that we not be put in a bad room. It might not matter, they said with a chuckle, but at least I could try. They went on to tell me that my options were a) suck it up or b) leave. The hotel staff seemed to find all of this quite entertaining. I voted to leave. My wife voted to suck it up, which we did. We really enjoy the area and despite 5 nights in a bad room enjoyed ourselves. Needless to say, we won't be back, and neither should you. If you are planning an event remember that hotels who do not honor your reservations are bad to do business with.

Outside music plays all night long which you can hear if your room faces the water. Spent two sleepless nights. Also if you want to use your balcony you must listen to this loud music all day. Restaurant closed for breakfast, bar staff seem unknowledgeable even making simple drinks.

When you pay $299 per night to stay at an upscale resort you expect the best. When we checked into our room after a long drive there was not one piece of toilet paper. There were three towels which for being at the lake and pool most people need more than a few towels. There were some dead bugs that fell out of the curtains onto the bed when I closed them. There were no sheets for the pull out sofa bed. The sofa bed creaked every time you moved. It was super uncomfortable and the mattress was dirty. The shower needs instructions as you should not have to turn a dial nine times to turn it on. The cabinet with trash can did not work. Would not pull out on track. I was super disappointed as we have always stayed at lodge of the four seasons but wanted to upgrade since we missed our family vacation and treat ourselves but never again. Super disappointed! Not worth the money!

Response from Jeremy Odell, Revenue Management at Camden on the Lake Resort
Responded Jul 30, 2020
Hello USAfam, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. I have shared this review with our Executive Housekeeper and she is looking into how this would happen. I apologize for what sounds like a very lackluster stay here at Camden on the Lake. We definitely hold ourselves to higher standards than what you described. I would hope you would give us another chance. Thank you for choosing Camden on the Lake. Kind Regards

Very nice room, comfortable, and mostly quiet. Being there off-season was nice as there was hardly any boat or bar noise. The bar across the cove is an eye sore, though thankfully couldn't see while lying in bed. The room was large and comfortable, though some of the wood furniture is showing rough edges and aging. There was also rust on the bathroom vent. The freezer door was broke and our drinks froze in the fridge. (Only disappointing due to cost, as our expectations were higher for the quality of the room.) The staff was great and friendly. Breakfast was good at H.Toads. We might stay again, though probably not in the busy season.

I never saw one when I went. Then again, they also asked us to bring our dirty towels downstairs and get fresh ones so I doubt anything they claim to have is actually being offered.
