My boyfriend and I live in Kansas City and needed a weekend getaway to relax and unplug. Walnut Waters Bed & Breakfast was only a 40 minute drive for us. It was the perfect spot for our needs because although it was close to town we felt like we had driven hours out into the country, it was so serene and peaceful. The driveway is this long dirt road with a charming bridge to drive over entering the property. Karl and Rebecca were so personable and welcoming! We got unpacked and then walked around the property and pond, fed the catfish and laid under the trees in the hammock just soaking in the beautiful scenery. It was EXACTLY what we were hoping for. Our room had its own en-suite bathroom, our own patio, and a nice TV - although we came to "unplug" so we shut off all electronics during our stay. We had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before but were amazed with the breakfast that Rebecca prepared for us. It was nothing short of gourmet, truly. Rebecca even sent me the recipe for the amazing fresh-baked bread that she had made us (among about 5 other dishes that she served) with hot coffee and orange juice! This is somewhere that I highly recommend if you are needing a one-day or whole weekend getaway, or even a place to stay during a road trip, I highly recommend. Karl and Rebecca made sure that we were comfortable from great conversation to giving us the option to select a breakfast time it was a wonderful first bed & breakfast experience.

The scenery was breathtaking! The owners, Karl and Rebecca were warm and welcoming welcoming. Seating by the lake and feeding the fish were a treat. Our room walked out on to a patio that was quiet and relaxing. The food was excellent! We look forward to visiting again!
