Stayed here with my mum and two young children, would highly recommend. Clean and comfortable with a lovely cooked breakfast to kick start the day. Plenty of choice for children for breakfast. Owners couldn't do more.

Hello and thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased that all members and ages of the family had a wonderful time here, albeit exhausted after 2 days at Alton Towers! I can still hear the girls saying "this is lovely", they were a pleasure to have to stay in our home. Perhaps see you again, maybe you...

A characterful cottage whose hosts provide a very warm welcome and make you feel at home - their delight in your stay is wonderfully refreshing. It's a case of Choose Your Own Breakfast and every request is accommodated with a smile. I look forward to going back and using it as a base to explore the surrounding area.

Popped in the coffee shop here for a quick drink whilst passing through. Not too far from home but enjoyed the quirky decor, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Didn't try the cakes this time , will save for a return visit

1 night stay. Excellent in every way.....twin room was immaculately presented with a choice of soft or hard mattress and more than adequate storage. Private bathroom was a delight, large roll top bath and separate shower. Breakfast was delivered with a smile and nothing was too much trouble-my only regret was that my early start did not allow me time...

I stayed in the twin bed room for a one night stopover on the way to alton towers. Bev sent a separate email with helpful instructions to find it as it's a bit difficult to locate in the dark. Had a warm welcome and a great night's sleep on the comfortable bed. Full english breakfast in the morning was very...

Ive visited a few times now and each time greeted with a warm welcome. Great if you have a child too as they have a small selection of toys. Lovely cakes and good coffee. On sunny days theres a pleasant garden to the rear.

Dear Anne Many thanks for leaving a 5/5 review that's lovely to hear, although the garden is pretty colourless in November we are still getting walkers and cyclists using the garden and patio entrance. We look forward to seeing you again soon, over the colder months we will have the log burner lit and have put some new flavoured coffees...

Our first time here even though we don't live very far away. We had coffee and scones. And what scones! So light and tasty. This place is a find and we shall definitely visit again. Margaret and Ken Mayo.

Dear Margaret and Ken It was lovely to meet you recently and thank you so much for your kind review, I am glad you enjoyed the scones, perhaps you will come back on a Tuesday next time when I bake Cheese and Herb scones - a savoury cream tea rather than the traditional sultana jam and clotted cream daily offer....

I took my Girlfriend away to Alton Towers and we chose to stay at The Old Bakers Cottage. This was the icing on the cake. Ideal location for Alton Towers (25 mins away). Nice friendly staff and a lovely breakfast. From the time of booking, they kept in touch as we were expecting to arrive late. Mind the low door heads! after one pint too many in the local over the road, I managed to hit one...to be fair we were warned.

Thank you for your kind review, we are glad you had a lovely stay here during your summer visit to Alton Towers. Yes, we do warn taller guests about the low bedroom doorway on the twin room - the joys of living in a 1701 cottage .... of course only being 5' myself it's never a problem for me!! Joking...

My Dad & I booked a twin room here to get a head start on the crowds at nearby Alton Towers resort. The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful (they recommended nearby pubs & gave us tips to avoid crowds and queuing times at the theme park.) The room itself was quaint and adequate. Nicely decorated, but we both...
