We stayed here for 3 nights. On a pretty busy main road, gates open up to a little oasis, it feels like your on your own private part of the beach. This small hotel only had 6 rooms so it does feel very private. Our room was located on the ground floor ‘coastal’ room. It had a lovely terrace that went straight out to the pool and beach. The bed was lovely and comfortable, room nice and spacious, however I do feel there were certain parts that could be improved. The bathroom wasn’t up to five star standard , the tap and sink were not secured properly and it wasn’t as nicely decorated as the pictures show on booking.com
The breakfast was good and there was a good selection, fruit, eggs, toast, Sri Lankan breakfast if you would like.
The location was not too far from Mirissa town but you will need tuk tuks as the main road is too busy and it is too far to walk in the heat.
The staff were lovely, however there was one member who was not very attentive , he never made eye contact which came across as rude but I think he was new. I think it is a new hotel so there are going to be a few teething problems.
The main member of staff who seems to be the manager was lovely and he even waited for us one evening to get back from watching the sunset as he knew I wanted to see the turtles being released into the sea. This was very special and I am so grateful to him that he waited. Little things like this will go a long way and people remember this type of special moment.

The Hotel Vis Ta Vie is beautifully placed on a private beach that has one of the most serene beaches I’ve seen.
The fabulous interiors & room amenities are meant to spoil you and want to stay longer while the food was outstanding in taste.
The staff were extremely supportive the personal attention to details made our stay memorable. We have stayed at Thema resorts other properties, it has been always a great experience.

I have stayed at several beach resorts. This was where we felt most like being in our private villa - with great service. The manager made sure we got a chance to see and release newly hatched sea turtles. We were able to get a late (and high quality) breakfast after our whale watching trip and a surprise candlelit dinner by the beach. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The property is outstanding and so are the services and the staff. The hotel is a boutique small one, that includes a nice restaurant where you can have some good food if you’re too lazy to go out, like we were. It is exactly like in the advertised pictures and it has direct access to the ocean. The staff is there at all times to help you with whatever you might need and they really care for the wellbeing of their customers without being too pushy. It was my birthday when I arrived there and they prepared me a small surprise and made me feel special, despite the rain outside. I rarely give 10 for a hotel, but this one deserves a 10+! I already recommend it to all my friends and definitely I would like to return here one day! Keep up the good work!

This beautiful gem of a villa is nestled right next to the golden sands of Mirissa. We stayed for two nights and the level of service was exceptional with staff attending to all our needs. With ocean front entrance, it’s as though you have access to your own private beach. The rooms each unique to a coastal theme are spacious and adorned with beautiful interior. Would highly recommend for a memorable stay!

Beautiful Boutique hotel, with amazing staff. They will do everything in their power for you to have an unforgettable experience. The level of comfort and food experience is top notch, difficult to fine this level in any top hotels. They cater to your preferences for fresh fruit and seafood from the fish markets. Crossover cuisine with the freshest ingredients of the island, and maybe the best chef in the island😊 The beach is superb almost like private, except the sea turtles that will visit you.

Had a wonderful 2 nights here, and the staff were excellent! They arranged a snorkelling experience for us and gave us a very reasonable price. The property is directly on the beach, the food we had was delicious, the rooms were clean and spacious, and I have no complaints. I can highly recommend the hotel!

This was one of the nicest boutique places we have ever stayed in. Our group of two adult couples had the best stay imaginable. From the moment the gates open you are greeted with smiles and the most magnificent vista. The rooms are delightful - beautifully appointed with views over the beautiful pool and ocean. The staff could not be more positive or attentive. And then we get turtles…on our own ‘private’ beach. Being served a scrumptious seafood platter on the beach was yet another highlight. We had the most magical and memorable stay at Vis Ta Vie. Beautifully decorated, luxurious and modern but still in keeping with the essence of Sri Lanka, tweaks of the ocean and nature throughout the hotel. The area is slightly out of the hustle and bustle of Mirissa but close enough to pop in and out, the beach is lovely and feels so private to the hotel. Ruvindra is the most hospitable manager and his team alongside chef Roshan made our stay incredible, nothing was ever too much. Roshan’s food was some of the best I’ve ever tasted and was extremely accommodating to everyone’s requests! They certainly went above and beyond throughout our time there and we will certainly be back! Thank you team, Sri Lanka you have our hearts!

"If you come from November to February there are turtles that come to beach to lay their eggs and when they hatch you see the babies go to the water. "
