We found this from a recommendation from hotel guest services. The place itself is really interesting. Definitely an experience worth having. Food was good, not outrageously exceptional but still good. One thing I really liked was they have a map on display for guests to pin where they are from.

If you make a reservation and some of your party doesn't show up they will demand you purchase that number of extra meals. If you try to sort it out with management they will threaten to call the police. How about a business just being grateful for the 22 people that ate and paid instead of threatening someone over three...

We've been wanting to try this place; we often have out of town guests and I wanted to check this place out to see if it would be worth the drive (20+ miles) to bring guests. Here's my report: The drive was pretty. As others have said, the parking lot is a bit dismal, as is the shuttle van, which...

Ok, definitely a must see at least once. Restaurant in a cave? You betchya. I will say this: Concept was great. Food was good. I ordered a burger and it was pretty good. Onion ring appetizer was listed as "huge onion rings." Not so much. Atmosphere was what you'd expect. When we were there the de-humidifier quit working and the...

It's just a casual dinner in a cave. The food is very good. We had something different and it was all very good. The live piano music was nice, very good player. Have to give a shout out to Debbie our waitress, what an awesome lady, with a great personality. Local people working there nice to meet. We like to...

On December 19th, my party traveled the long and winding dirt road to The Cave. It was a Thursday and we went a little early to be on time for the opening at 4PM. To our surprise, we waited and waited for the restaurant to open. We waited patiently for someone to open up the parking area which was chained...

We traveled over an hour to have dinner in "the cave". I would not make the trip for the food...however, how often can one have a dinner in a real cave with a live piano for background music? We found it very charming. The staff was friendly and very casual. The location is the entire point of visiting this restaurant....

This place has some very unique features. The restaurant is up a cliff alongside the Gasogonade river. But the whole operation is low class. After a 2+ mile ride down a gravel road we discovered you needed to be "shuttled" to the restaurant. The shuttle is a 10+ year old mini-van that is falling apart. The young man driving the...

We took a motorcycle trip to the Cave Restaurant. It is inconveniently located down the 2+ miles of gravelly Rochester Road. Although the gravel road is luxurious compared to the parking lot which looks like a demilitarized zone after this year's flooding. By the way, there is only one sign for the restaurant and that is right at the parking...

“Take highway 7 north from 44 about 6.5 miles and look for Rochester Road on the right. It is a wide gravel road. Follow is for about a mile and it turns into blacktop for awhile and then back to gravel. It opens out to a fairly wide plain on both sides and crosses the river. Start looking for the turn into the Cave restaurant driveway on the right. There is a sign but be looking for it.”

“Don't expect the Ritz. These are vintage resort cabins, which is a great deal of their charm. Expect rustic, and you will LOVE these. Expect modern and perfect, and be disappointed. I really enjoyed my stay!!!!”
