First, let me point out that I don't expect a 5-star room when I rent a cabin, but I do expect the bare essentials to at least be met. My wife and I stayed in The Roost for our anniversary, and judging by the pictures on their website, it looked incredible. However, upon arriving to our cabin it was anything...

I stayed at the Birds Nest Lodge with a few friends for New Years and we had a great time. The cabin was clean and roomy, and the hot tub was already heated up waiting for us. I loved that they allow pets so you can bring your whole family along with you. The area is gorgeous, especially with fresh...

I want to start off by saying that I absolutely do NOT understand all of the negative reviews on this place. These are CABINS! Maybe some people have a misconstrued view on what a "cabin" is, but if you're wanting a 5 star hotel then go to a 5 star hotel. With that being said, here is my personal opinion...

My elderly parents went for a weekend getaway and were treated rudely by the owner, they were told to bring their own bed linens which was fine but they didnt mention they would not furnish towels or any kitchen utensils not even a plate or frying skillet. They had to go out and buy these things every time my mom...

Negatives: Nature enthusiasts, and family oriented folks seeking a comfortable lodging facility that offers clean campgrounds with enforced quiet time rules need not reserve a cabin OR campground at the Bird's Nest. The campgrounds were crowded and littered with beer cans from the scores of twenty somethings who partied past dawn. The "receptionist" at the main lodge (where you check...

The place was disgusting. While using the bathroom a couple of girls had bugs crawl on them, the shower head was falling out of the wall, and the floor was sinking in. Also bring shoes that you can wear in the shower because you will feel dirty getting out of the shower than you did before getting in it. The...

We stayed at the Bob White, it was disgusting! black mold on the walls. Ceiling fan covered with filth, mini-blinds needed to be burned. Bath tub knob broke off, and the ceiling held up with duct tape. Torn furniture, smelly trash left for us in the kitchen. And when the place was cleaned they mopped the floors from the kitchen sink,...

We got in after the office was closed, and after dark, to our cabin which when we opened the door, we wanted to run far away. It was like something out of a horror movie. Filthy beyond filthy. Pee stained mattresses with no sheets, carpet I would not put an animal on. Holes in walls covered with tape. Book in...

We went with a large group of adults and kids and due to time and booking constraints had to settle for the "White House", we booked off the website and used the pictures to gauge. What a Mistake!! The "White House" should be condemned. It's not even close to the "resort" and should not be rented out to anyone. Especially...

We booked this cabin over the internet. Upon arrival, receptionist advised she had forgot to tell use 'we needed bedding'- which she provided so we could make up our bed. You needed much more than bedding - cabin was small, the beds were terrible, the floors were filthy and the bathroom was primitive. We booked another hotel in Cuba for...
