Our stay was wonderful. The room had a balcony where we enjoyed cocktails overlooking the grounds and watched the sunset. The bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We were told in advance that breakfast was “continental (fruit, yogurt, muffin) as the main restaurant was not open. Very good pizza at Riley’s!

Lovely place. Beautiful view of the lake. The accommodations are fine, we has a mid range room with two queens, A sitting area. Nice nice kitchenette. Big screen TV worked and had a respectable number of channels. The bath was pretty basic. Old style shower tub combo. There is a sink and vanity outside the bath, probably an extra place for shaving or makeup application if bath is being used. Mismatch bulbs (some clear, some frosted) were a bit off putting.
Ate at the Sports Bar downstairs...excellent food, and surprisingly upscale for being the Sports bar. Wood fired pizza. Main restaurant was apparently closed for the season...or maybe it opens on the weekend.
Beautiful main building. Nice sitting area for breakfast outside the dining area. Downstairs, there was a large private dining area which would be perfect for special events... like a rehearsal dinner. Sports bar as windows and outside seating, so it's not a cellar.
Nice courtyard...fun wood bear carvings, putting green, cornhole, waterfall. Large infinity pool overlooking the lake. Two large adjacent in ground hot tubs.
Overall, I got the impression the place was a tad rundown. Pine needles chocked the waterfall, some of the furnishing looked a bit old. Never could figure out how to turn on gas fireplace. The instructions were written for a replaced thermostat. Now that could have been from "end of the season" doldrums....
As I said, nothing too bad, it just needs some closer attention or a new manager or owner spending some money on the place. It would be fun to go back in the summer and try the restaurant.

We only stayed here for a night on our national parks tour but really enjoyed it. The room was so comfortable and little touches like the fireplace help to make it so. We used the pool and hot tub - what a nice view from both! And the more casual restaurant attached to the hotel (Riley’s) had great food. Everyone at the hotel was very welcoming, from the front desk who let us check in a little early to a staff member who sat with us and told us all the points of interest around the area. Wish we had been able to spend more nights here!

Spent 4 nights here. The resort was clean & friendly staff. Grounds are quite small but well kept. Pool was nice however hot tubs were in need of maintenance as they were not working well. The lodge is extremely dated and in need of renovations. It is located on Highway 35 which is a busy road. There is a general store opposite which was well stocked. From certain rooms there is a beautiful view of the lake, however Room 201 does not offer that & the view is very restricted. Entering the room upon arrival it smelt very musty & this smell lingered throughout our stay indicating a lack of ventilation! The kitchenette lacked any basic utensils. Their guest services directory suggests a housekeeping tip of $2-$5 a day housekeeping was lacking throughout our stay. The resort restaurant was closed 2 out of the 4 nights. Food Recommendations: Pocket-stone Cafe, Saddle Horn Marina, Fieldhouse Coffee Shop, all had a good atmosphere and great customer service. Big Fork ~ What a lovely place, people were very welcoming & friendly creating a wonderful community which has a lovely feel to it ~ This town could teach the world a thing or too!

I've been coming here almost 20 years so I don't easily type this review. Used to be essentially perfect. We had issue after issue and were treated in the end with an attitude of indifference vs. concern about the impacts which causes me to take the time to write this. When checking in, one of the rooms I specifically requested and was assured of when reserved had been given to someone else. The TV wasn't set correctly so didn't work. Then the fireplace didn't work in one of the rooms. It was great that those two items were handled quickly but the issues just continued. The fireplace that was now able to be turned on, would not turn off. Finally had to just remove the batteries to stop it. In the second room the bedroom TV didn't work and the fireplace continually went out. Both rooms were extremely hot from all the other room thermostats that would not turn off requiring opening the door to tolerate how hot it was. Of course that is then a safety issue but impossible to sleep in the heat. Of the five times calling the front desk the phone was answered only once. After then walking to the front desk to report, the room key stopped working so back again. Door latches to enter are so sticky it takes a number of times and angle for them to open.
The maintenance issues I'm describing were non-existent under prior ownership.
Ultimately I requested compensation for all this and was advised it wasn't possible to reach the owners as they were running errands. I asked for a callback which never happened. Even if the maintenance issues get the attention they need, the disregard for the customer will keep me from going back. Particularly this customer that has been there many times and recommended it to so many.

I was so excited to get away for a 3 night trip to this hotel. When I arrived, I was told that the pool and hot tub was open 24/7- which seemed great! Who doesn't want to take a dip in a beautiful infinity pool late at night? The first night, I went outside and realized there were NO lights in the pool or around it turned on. It was pitch black. No swimming for me. I called the front desk the next day and was told the following, "We don't have lights for the pool and hot tub. Nobody else has ever complained so I don't see the problem. We have a video camera and they look at it all the time." Apparently, me wanting to swim and not fall on my way there or be able to actually see the pool, is something nobody else has ever thought of. The next day I got the same person when I called to ask for the "code" for the vending room for ice. She said "Use your key card." I advised there is only a code for the handle and no key card option. She responded "Huh, weird. I have no idea. Nobody has ever asked that before." Nice. We had pizza at Riley's pub at the hotel and the girl who brought it to us said they were having trouble getting the bottom of the pizza done. She still served it to us raw anyway. Lovely dough. Gross. Our room had one roll of TP and the maid never came by in the 4 days we were there and never attempted to. We weren't impressed with their lack of care for the customers at all.

4 of us from various parts of the Flathead Valley met here recently for a quick getaway for fun and relaxation. We were not disappointed! First, the view and setting is spectacular. But that feeling follows you inside to the rooms and all facilities. Best thing of all? They're dog friendly! The people who greeted us were delightful. The winter rates are amazing. Riley's Pub satisfied the whole group...from the best appetizers, fried green beans and chicken wings (seriously stellar), to the last bite of Brick Oven-fired pizza! This experience may very well become habit-forming! Thanks to everyone!

We recently visited Flathead Lake and stayed in the Mountain Lake Lodge. It was a beautifully kept hotel with wonderful views of the mountains and Flathead lake. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were very clean, beds were comfortable, and rooms were also spacious. The pool was heated and the hot tubs were so refreshing especially after a day of kayaking the river. They had for corn hole and a mini putt putt for entertainment, as well as a nice fire pit for s’mores or roasting hot dogs. My ONLY issue and the reason for not giving 5 stars was our view from our room was obstructed by a overgrown tree/bush. I would’ve appreciated being able to sit and drink coffee on my porch like the rest of the visitors and being able to enjoy the beautiful views. My suggestion to the hotel is cut down the tree in front of room 302. The last pic is of my view. Lol

Although this is an unpretentious property, it had everything we needed. The accomodations were spacious and clean; a living room, small kitchen area with sink, microwave, refrigerator, bedroom and bath, and a front porch. Staff was very friendly. Schafer's restaurant on property (see separate review) was fantastic. Location was great. Even though the continental breakfast left a lot to be desired in terms of nutrition, I still give it 5 stars because everything else was just perfect.

We stayed in one of the King bed jacuzzi rooms. The room was huge with a large area by the fireplace. The grounds were so beautiful and we really enjoyed our time in the pool and hot tub overlooking the lake. There was a cornhole game and fire pits for making s’mores. Despite the craziness of COVID, the staff were friendly and found creative ways to make us feel welcome. They gave us home baked cookies when we checked in and they provide s’mores kits complete with chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers. We ate at the pub restaurant. The fish and chips were delicious. My husband ordered a pizza and had enough for a picnic lunch to share the next day at Glacier.
