The ranch is very good, you experience the real life of the brangles. Elaine and Loane are very nice and helpful. We really enjoy our holiday, we went out with the horses in the field and we Also went to check the cattle. In the Evening they took us to the pig race and to see the real western rodeo.

This was my 3rd trip to the Lonesome Spur Ranch and each time was better than the last. The last thing I wanted in a ranch was a "dude ranch", I wanted to gather, saddle and bridle my own horse. I wanted to ride in areas that are not much differant than they were a hundred or so years ago....

We really enjoyed the many western opportunies we received during our two weeks at the Lonesome Spur Ranch. My husband, myself and our two daughters branded and trailed cows. We camped over night in the beautiful Pryor mountains you could see the stars and the campfire was WONDERFUL. We had some rainy weather so we got to go to Cody,...

My eight year old son and I stayed at the ranch for a week. All of the staff and owners were wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was great and the riding was excellent. We had just the right amount of activity and down time for the stay to be relaxing yet still get the ranch experience. We both enjoyed...

If a cattle driving experience / holiday on a real American working ranch is your dream holiday, please be careful what you wish for and think carefully before booking otherwise your dreams maybe left in tatters. If however you want to spend just a portion of your holiday on pleasure rides and then drinking the nights away, we're sure your...

Would I come back - NO! Rating - Overall 2.5 stars; Cowboy related work/activity - 1 star; Pleasure riding 3 stars. DON'T BELIEVE THE WEB SITE! This is NOT a working cattle ranch. There are NO CATTLE on this ranch. Cowboy activity apparently depends on the needs of another rancher. If he does not have a need, there is no...

this guest arrived at what would have been the busiest time for branding and moving cattle, all ranch activity is weather permitting as we cannot brand wet cattle-- this is clearly stated on our website! We also cannot inoculate or ear tag cattle in wet conditions for the risk of infection to cattle. The week that this guest was here...

I visited the ranch with friends. We didn't see Lonnie for the first day or so. Didn't really do much riding either for the first couple of days. We had some amazing times but this was down to the wranglers Mike and Shane NOT Lonnie and Elaine. In our last day, everyone was going branding (it had got rained off...

I have stayed at Lonesome Spur Ranch now on two occasions and can honestly say it is a fantastic experience. As a boy I had always wanted to go out to America and ride like they do on those western films. I wanted to get stuck in to ranch work and feel every bit the part of an old fashioned...

The lonesome spur ranch is a beautiful place in the midst of Montana. My friend and I had been to the ranch last year and decided to come back again because we loved it so much! We were not disappointed. The landscape in Montana is breathtaking and even more so on the back of a horse. The people that run...

It was every thing I ever hoped it would be....and more. I wanted to experience life on a real rustic, authentic working ranch. That's exactly what it was. I felt like I was staying with ' old friends ' and felt completely at home. The only fault I can find is entirely my own. You must go for longer than...

“All of the rooms are lovely but the Bunk House was brilliant as it was down by the barn and horses.”
Soozcrew, 18 Jun 2014 | Read review
“I stayed in the Bunk House which was right next to the barns so I thought it was quite handy I was closer to the horses for getting ready each morning. The only downside was that I had to walk across the field each morning and night to reach the kitchen (which only took a couple of minutes) and the wifi is only set up in the main house but as I didn't use it that wasn't a problem for me.”
