Moss Mountain Inn is an awarding-winning eco-smart bed and breakfast located on the western border of Glacier National Park, Montana, seven miles from the park entrance at West Glacier and a half mile from the North Fork of the National Wild and Scenic Flathead River. Our three-story cedar inn sits high on six forested acres in the Flathead National Forest with views of Glacier Park. Quiet and away from traffic and park crowds, our B&B is the perfect base camp for all your Glacier expeditions. A scenic short cut to the West Glacier entrance finds you in the park in 15 minutes. You will feel both secluded from and surrounded by the majesty of Glacier. The outpost village of Polebridge, Glacier Park International Airport, and the quaint resort town of Whitefish are all within a short drive. We offer up-to-date, charming amenities, and personal attention to detail to ensure your stay with us is distinctive. When our guests arrive they often feel an immediate connection to their "Glacier Base Camp" and refer to it as "home".

We had an amazing stay at Moss Mountain Inn. Despite the COVID craziness, the owners made our stay feel so warm and welcoming. They are so friendly and hospitable. The breakfasts were delicious and they even made us picnic lunches to take into Glacier National Park. Our room was spotless and there were many extra touches that made you feel at home. The Inn is in a beautiful, serene setting. Our stay was exactly what we needed. So relaxing and peaceful. We loved the hot tub after long hikes at Glacier. Moss Mountain Inn definitely gets five stars in our book!

Moss Mountain is a real gem. My wife and I stayed there two nights and then another two nights later on. It is a beautiful building with lots of light wood trim set in the forest. There are four bedrooms with one on the first floor, one on the second floor, and two on the third floor. The rooms do not have their own TV but there is a very nice common TV room with a large wood stove that should come in handy in the winter. The bedroom on the first floor is small and the queen bed fills most of the sleeping area. It also has a shower and sink area and a small “closet” for the toilet. It is connected to the atrium which might be the best feature of the facility. The atrium is large (17 by 33 feet) and complete with tables and chairs, soft chairs, and a couch. Just sitting in the atrium and watching the surrounding nature makes for a great stay. The second floor has a bedroom and the kitchen area which has two dining tables that house 6 and 4 people. The breakfasts that we had were first-rate. Pancakes, bacon, German pancakes (like crepes), fruit, scones, egg dishes, etc. The new owner and cook are very engaging and we spent at least an hour at breakfast talking with them and the other guests. The owner also was a wealth of information about Glacier National Park, places to hike outside the Park, and things to do in the surrounding cities. Other specific attributes of Moss Mountain are that the beds were very comfortable (among the best we have ever had) and the B&B provided many essential items such as bear spray, sun screen, insect repellent, 4-way cell phone charger in each room, hot tub, kitchen area with microwave and fruit, nuts, and energy bars, a common area with Keurig coffee maker, tea, and refrigerator. We highly recommend this peaceful Bed and Breakfast.

I almost don't know where to start.  The Moss Mountain Inn is perfect in every way.  From the moment you turn off the highway you enter a  beautiful, peaceful, and private property. The B&B has so much character and charm.  It has a warm and inviting feeling.  I immediately felt welcome.  The first floor has a comfortable TV room and a beautiful solarium where you can sit and look at the beautiful woodsy area and nature from the comfort of indoors. The B&B had the perfect relaxing atmosphere for our first visit to the area and Glacier National Park.  Marguerite, the owner, is a jewel and the ultimate host.  She provided us with information about the area and interesting places to visit.  I looked forward to visiting her daily.  Her property sits on several acres and is good for short hikes, sitting outside by the fire, or relaxing in the jacuzzi.  There is also a workout room.  The view from our room was amazing.  The homemade breakfast was plentiful and wonderful.   I looked forward to each morning sitting around the breakfast table having coffee and talking to the other guest.  A delicious hardy breakfast helped us start our day.  I truly wish I could have stayed longer. It's such a beautiful property you never want to leave.  I highly recommend The Moss Mountain Inn.  Marguerite will provide you with a shortcut to the Park.  Did I mention this place is awesome! 😊 I hope I didn't miss anything.  Don't look any further.

A bed and breakfast conjures up certain images. A friendly host who warmly greets you when you arrive. A warm and inviting common area with late afternoon wine and appetizers laid out where you can chat with your host and the other guests. A delicious home-made breakfast. Moss Mountain Inn did not deliver on any of these characteristics.
No one greeted us after our 8 hour drive to Columbia Falls. Marguerite, the owner, did send us a text saying that she might not be there to greet us but would leave the key out. That she did. We walked into a cold and dark house, found our key, removed our shoes (as requested) and schlepped our bags up two flights of stairs to our room. Despite some protection on the stairs, they are a little slippery especially with two heavy bags.
After putting our bags in our rooms, we proceeded to explore the house but ultimately decided to stay in our room because we could warm it up and couldn't figure out how to warm the rest of the house up even though it was only about 5:00 or so.
The smell of bacon cooking greeted us the following morning. An encouraging sign that the coming breakfast did not fulfill. Breakfast on the first day consisted of lukewarm french toast made out of what we think was some kind of very sweet bread from Costco, bacon (that I really liked, but my wife did not) and grapes. There were only four of us at breakfast that morning and it was almost like they cut back the breakfast because of that.
The next (our last day), they served scrambled eggs with either spinach or asparagus (not sure which), bacon, fruit, and scones that my wife and I cannot agree were homemade or not. Decent but once again not a five star breakfast as noted in all the other reviews.
The two things the place did have were the location (only a 15 minute drive into Glacier) and some pretty extensive wooded land around the inn that would have been fun to explore if it hadn't been rainy and cold.
The inn appears to have changed hands in 2021 yet the five star reviews have undeservedly continued for Moss Mountain Inn. To check out a review of a real 5 star bed and breakfast, please read some of the reviews for the Abingdon Green in Asheville, NC, a real 5 star bed and breakfast. Moss Mountain isn't in the same league and is a reason why we are going to discontinue staying at B&Bs.

MMI is about 15 minutes from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park (Marguerite will give you a short cut map which utilizes back roads), is very comfortable, peaceful and a perfect place to escape to and relax. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We had the first floor Camus room which has the world’s most comfortable bed! The breakfasts are amazing with something for every taste. Marguerite makes the BEST blueberry muffin bread French toast which we will be talking about for weeks. Breakfast includes fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, eggs or egg casserole, cereal, sausage and/or bacon and more! We would go back just for the breakfasts. There are many hiking items for guests use, including bear spray. There is a hot tub as well, although we did not use it. If visiting Glacier National Park, do consider staying here!

Part of our trip exploring America's national parks included a stay in the Glacier area! Moss mountain provided an excellent location to explore the West side of Glacier. Marguerite and her family were excellent hosts… providing a wealth of knowledge on the area, a stunning location to stay during our trip and a few
tips/tricks to help with our travels(we'll keep that a secret and let Marguerite share).

The entire property is meticulously maintained and super cute! Accommodations were super clean, beds were comfortable and overall a wonderful experience. Close enough to town for food and entertainment but a quiet serene setting to fully relax & disconnect.

Traveler Tip: Glacier area requires a fair amount of driving. I’m glad we spent the time we did at Moss Mountain I maybe would have forfeited 1 day stay on the east side of the park

We really enjoyed our stay at Moss Mountain. There are four rooms in the inn and it is about 10 miles from the West Entrance to Glacier. Rooms are air conditioned and/or heated and beds are very comfortable. Two rooms are on the smaller side, but the rooms on the top floor are larger. They serve a delicious continental breakfast. Solarium and LR are available for all guests to use. They also are very knowledgeable about the park and are happy to share any information that you might need. We would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at Moss Mountain Inn while visiting Glacier National Park. The Inn was only about 15 minutes away from the west entrance of the park. Our room, the Highline, was at the top of the house with its own large balcony to view the grounds and the star filled sky at night. Amazing! The innkeeper was a great host and she was a wealth of information and recommendations for the park and overall area (alternate ways to get into park, things to do in the park, restaurant options, other activities in the area). We had a great time in the area and only wish we had more time to explore further and spend more time at Moss Mountain Inn.

This lovely, homey small Inn is located In a wooded area close to Glacier National Park. The owner,Marguerite and her daughter Callie add to the ambiance by providing great advice about the park, where to eat and what to do. There’s a huge solarium and a sort of rec room with fireplace as well as a firepit and hot tub. There’s a refrigerator and washer/dryer for guests. Her breakfasts were delicious. She loans out bear spray and park info books. This is all the recipe for a relaxing vacation. I highly recommend it
