If you are looking for accommodations close to the west entrance of Glacier National Park, you will be very satisfied with the Wonderstone at Glacier. Newly renovated, this property is located a short drive away from restaurants in Columbia Falls and has a food truck out back. This is not a hotel with lobby restaurant on-site, so be prepared to venture out nearby for everything other than coffee, which is always available. Photos on the website accurately reflect the rooms.

Important tip…the Wonderstone at Glacier is located along side Hwy 2, which has steady traffic all night long. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to ask for a room on the opposite side of the building. Other than the road noise and a bit of “hallway echo” with the hard flooring, this was a great place to stay. I would recommend for couples looking for a clean, comfortable overnight stay while enjoying Glacier.

The best place around. Very nice staff and very clean place. Breakfast is not included in the price, but you can drink unlimited tea and coffee at the table behind the reception. Life-saving biscuits and dried fruit seeds are prepared in the room. We went back to them a second time, too. Rooms facing the courtyard are quieter.

Our family of four stayed for two nights in July while visiting Glacier. We had room 24, upstairs facing the back. Other reviews complained of noise, but we had a great stay. You could tell they “heard” those reviews as earplugs were provided and a note to be mindful of noise. The room was very large and the trundle bed with a King bed was a great option for our teens’ sleeping arrangement (boy & girl). They even left snacks in the room, which were thoughtful. There was ice and a water bottle filling station off the lobby, which were helpful before we left for hikes. We left behind a camera charger and battery, and they kindly found it and sent it to us. Great customer service.

Stay anywhere but here. My girlfriend and I booked a room for a night during a music festival, we were told that our keys would be in a mailbox out front of the building. This is open mailbox meaning anyone can grab your keys at night, with all of your information including address and full name. When we arrived there was no keys or envelope with our name only one other person. We called the hotline that they had maybe 4 times before a rude intoxicated woman answered in a loud bar and basically told us there was nothing she could do. This was at 1:30 am and so this hotel not only left us stranded but offered no help whatsoever with the situation. Not to mention this is an updated motel 6 on the side of a busy highway next to a gas station. Please do yourself a favor and book another hotel. We stayed at Meadow lake resort the night before and had a great experience. Take our word and stay away, you can get a much nicer room, with better customer service, on a nicer property elsewhere.

Response from Ken Besada, Owner at Wonderstone At Glacier
Responded Aug 7, 2023
Mr. Duran, we strongly believe that you were a victim of a fraudulent booking, as we do not have any record of your reservation or this incident. It has become an incredibly common occurrence in our industry. We are doing our best to figure out how to stop this from happening. Would you be kind enough to let us know what name your reservation was under and how you booked it? Or call us a 406.892.0888 and asked to be transferred to one of the property owners? We really want to get to the bottom of what happened this weekend and if we have any responsibility in it, we want to make it right.

The amenities and finishes of this hotel were fantastic and newly renovated.

The only suggestions for improvement would be the addition of towel hooks near the sink and a small desk for setting things down on.

This isn’t a knock on the hotel by any means, but the guests staying above us were so extremely heavy footed to the point where it literally woke me up. I think they might have been moving furniture at one point early in the morning as well.

This “hotel” is more of a motel. Checking in the staff was about discombobulated and nervous (it was her first time). The hallways and rooms smelled of very strong cleaning chemicals which is odd considering they provide “healthy and sustainable” bath products. There was hair from previous visitors in the bathrooms and the rug in our room was COVERED in animal fur. Our allergies were awful the entire time we were in the room and fine as soon as we left. I had to wear my shoes in the room because my socks were covered. There is no towel hook by the sink for a hand towel and the space is lacking to leave one next to your toiletries. We heard the side doors of the hotel (which are never locked) slamming all night/morning and the traffic on the road was noisy. I would have much rather spent more for accommodations to have a clean, less noisy room that had more accommodations. The amenities are lacking and no one wants to sit in their room or constantly go to a bar/restaurant on poor weather days or lazy vacation days.

I found this an interesting and nice place. Check-in was easy but different with a guy sitting at a beautiful table in the front lobby. Not a normal check-in desk.

Room was beautifully decorated. Earplugs provided since the walls do seem thin. Folks upstairs were loud just from walking around!

Snacks in the room were a great addition. Water bottle filling station in lobby was great.

A/C was a little old smelling when it switched to fan only but fine when A/C was on.

I found the “bunkhouse” concept very interesting and a great opportunity for those willing to share a room for $88.

Overall, I’d stay here again.

The hotel staff was friendly & helpful, the room was very clean and nicely decorated, the pillows & bed were comfortable. It appears to be a newly remodeled/renovated property, kind of like a boutique hotel. They had complimentary snacks in the room. If you’re going to Glacier NP to hike, you’ll most definitely need bear spray. At the time of our stay they offered it free of charge to us- just bring it back before you leave. If it’s not returned then you’ll be charged. The location was convenient to the park, we stayed 3 days and toured all over the area from that location. One thing I’ll mention is the bed is a bit low to the ground. I know it would be near impossible for my parents to get in and out of a bed that low, so keep that in mind. I don’t know if all the rooms are the same, so maybe check with the hotel about that. We’d definitely stay at the Wonderstone again.

The Wonderstone is a dream! My husband and I stayed at Wonderstone for two nights during our visit to Glacier and we couldn't have had a more wonderful experience. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we felt like we could take a deep breath of fresh air as we were greeted with kindness and hospitality from the receptionist working up front. Stellar customer service is hard to come by these days but that's one of the elements that makes Wonderstone set apart from competition. Apart from the incredible customer service, we absolutely loved our room and all of the beautiful modern touches. They have gone the extra mile to ensure guests truly feel right at home! We will absolutely stay here again during future visits!

Newly renovated, modern, and well priced. Walls are thin and the entry door isn't hotel room sealed. you can see the hallway light under the door. So, you hear all the other guests. The hotel isn't located in a luxury area but it is very quiet area and located very close to the west entrance of Glacier. There is also a food truck in the back that has delicious food if you don't want to eat out. We enjoyed returning to our room after a long day. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
