If you are taking Amtrak, the station I would stop at is White Fish, Mt. I think you would want to rent a car and White Fish is a nice small town where I think car rental can be arranged. During summer tourist months, the train will stop at a small RR station called Glacier Park. But services at that stop are quite sparse. White Fish is about 15-20 miles past Glacier. To get the most out of your vacation, you will need to have a car. To see the best of Glacier Park, you should have a car.
