This property has two cabins, each with two rooms in a wooded setting half way between East and West Glacier, about a mile from the Amtrak station. The family that owns the property also run the restaurant, general store, and post office that is beside the cabins. The family were not only very friendly but also extremely helpful. Because we...

Most lodging options around glacier are either extremely expensive, extremely primitive, or both. While it's tiny and a fair drive from the main park entrances, the Half Way Motel is reasonably prices (for a resort area) and provides modern amenities and a clean, comfortable place to stay. The place gets its name from its location on highway 2, roughly halfway...

This place was on our way from the east side to the west of Glacier Park. It is very simple but very clean. I stopped in the café to sign in and it was late so we didn't eat but looked very clean and my guess is that the food we all be homemade and delicious. They were very helpful...

My husband and I stayed at Half-Way Motel for five nights. It is family run. The rooms are extremely clean, and the staff very helpful. The Half-Way Cafe is a good place to grab some food. We are hikers and when asked at the Cafe for good hikes, we were given some great ideas. We enjoyed our stay and felt...

The wife and I have stayed with these folks for the last 4 years. In July we go to the Glacier Meadows For the Glacier/Waterton Ham Fest. Our stay has always been a good one. I couldn't ask for a better place to hang my hat and kick off my boots! Jim and Norma Sims

We stayed down the road, but went to the Half Way's Cafe for dinner two nights in a row. The hosts at the Inn we were staying at recommended the Half Way as a good place for home style cooking. The people running the motel and the cafe were very nice and packed up some yummy food for us to...

Stayed here on a recent vacation at Glacier. Rooms were nice sized, very clean, and well appointed. Ate dinner at the restaruant and were well satisfied with the meal we had. The owners were very friendly and hospitable.

Very nice large clean room with a huge bathroom. Nicest family you will ever meet. We arrived extremely late by Amtrak and they picked us up....with no wheels of our own, they also schuttled us to meet scenic tours with the Red Bus system in Glacier National Park. Meals were generous and home cooked. Great, quiet place to spend some...

I had a wedding to attend in July of 2011. I checked hotels in East Glacier and they were all booked. After looking on the map, it seemed that Essex was only a short ride (NO Traffic) from East Glacier so I booked three nights at the "Half Way". Wow, did we luck out. Spotless rooms, two queen beds, full...

Exceptionally clean (which is my number one priority)! Cheap! Friendly people! Big room, had a small fridge, but bring your own shampoo. We were happily surprised (and I'm someone who ONLY stays at chain hotels, but we had no other choice). If we go back to Glacier National Park, we will stay there again. (I was a little worried by...
